GrubHub - You Horrible Wonderful Invention

I desperately need groceries and hate to shop. I work from home on Fridays and was all ramped up to get buy myself a sensible salad mix and some greek yogurts for lunch.... Then I got tired. And really hungry. So I used GrubHub to order a mountain of Chinese food. I feel pretty guilty about my poor food choices for baby. But fried wantons and ginger chicken and green beans won the day. GrubHub is just too EASY. My will power is non-existent. Anyone else finding themselves loving takeout? I just made it into the second trimester and now I want to eat EVERYTHING because I don't feel sick.

  • Vons delivery and Amazon Prime are my go to's when I'm too lazy to go grocery shopping. EAT24 is my best friend when I'm too lazy to go online grocery shopping.

  • Oh boy I wish I had grocery delivery near me! I've tried to get InstaCart and Kroger delivers too, but I always seem to be like a mile out of there delivery area. I use Prime Pantry for my non-perishables. Can you buy fresh groceries on Amazon? If so.... I am totally doing it.

@Baskett88 Depending on where you live Amazon has a service called "Prime Now" for Prime members. In my city they have partnered with a few local grocery stores to do delivery. The biggest downside is that you have to shop from a mobile app. I haven't used the service specifically because of that issue. It's really hard to grocery shop on my phone.
  • We use Giant Peapod delivery for groceries and it's been such a lifesaver. I loathe going to the grocery store with 2 small children!

On Tuesday I ordered a pizza and decided the kids and I would watch a movie while we ate pizza in the living room. I told myself it was a once a week kind of treat since I'm so exhausted. On Wednesday, I struggled to re-heat leftover chicken and eat it while both my children were in hysterics and throwing tantrums about one thing or another.

On Thursday, back to pizza and a movie :-D

  • InstaCart, OrderAhead and PostMates are my life savers! Perks of living in the SF Bay Area; we have a million and one delivery/start-ups and can have basically anything you want on-demand.

Last night what Pho via OrderAhead and DH was thrilled to see it when he got home, too!

  • I live in a small town and there is not a single place of any variety that delivers to my house. I just made dh go with me during a snow storm to the thai place 25 minutes away to get takeout. Hes an angel.
