So I just found out at my last scan that I have a VCI, it is an abnormal condition where the umbilical cord is not inserted in the proper location to the placenta. The exposed vessels are not protected by Wharton's jelly and are vulnerable to rupture. So obviously this is a bit scary but my doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about and is more common than I think. But using google I found some scary stuff and am probably worrying myself more than I should. I'm a FTM and 26w4d currently. So I was just wondering if anyone else out there has the same condition or has previously had it in other pregnancies and what your experience was?
