New to this board- Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone-

After 15 months of trying to conceive, with help from a RE and an IUI, my husband and I finally got a positive pregnancy test... on my birthday 10/25! It was truly the best birthday present I ever received! We had a 6 week ultrasound with our RE, the fetus had a heartbeat, everything looked great. 2 weeks later we went back, no heartbeat- the fetus stopped developing at 8 weeks 4 days. Because of thanksgiving, I ended up having to wait a week and a half for a D&C, which I got done last Thursday.

I am absolutely devastated. I don't think I have every experienced this feeling before. I always thought that having a difficult time getting pregnant would be our hardest challenge, I never expected to finally get pregnant, and then lose the baby. With that being said, my husband and I are going to start trying again once I am done healing and get the go ahead from our RE. How long did you wait to start TTC again? Any advise for me?

    I'm so sorry to hear, I couldn't even imagine that type of loss. My doctor told me I had to wait 6-8 weeks a full cycle and then we can start trying again. Hopefully you can start right away!

    Sorry for you loss. Terrible to have tried for so long and then have it end so painfully. 

    We waited one cycle  to TTC or more like NTNP. I got my first AF 23 days post-MC and decided to just go with the flow and see what happens after that. I feel emotionally ready, and I had an unassisted miscarriage at home @ 9 weeks that was uncomplicated so my body hasn't had too much of a recovery.

    Sorry for your loss. It is so devastating and to have waited so long to experience that loss must be terrible. Hopefully you will find comfort here. FX that you will get your BFP sooner this time!

    @dani4est very sorry for your loss especially after such a long wait. To answer your questions were given the green light to TTC as soon as Hcg was down, we didn't have to wait for first af..even though we did... Like @bornready I mc at home naturally at 12 weeks so I'm sure the physical heal time will be a bit different. One thing I didn't expect and was surprised by was how emotional it was first time we had DTD after the mc (I cried after) some days will be better than others, allow yourself time to grieve and mentally heal..this loss will never go away instead you will find a place in your heart to carry this child..use the women on this site they are amazing and wonderful and truly understand your pain..I wish you the best and hope you get a BFP very soon!!

    I am so, so sorry for your loss. My doctor told me to wait two cycles before trying again after my D&C. Best of luck!

    our Doctor didn't tell us to wait at all. once my hcg was zero she told us if I don't get my period by Christmas to call her (we use an RE due to me not ovulating regularly. I don't think I'm gonna ovulate on my own but if I do and we get pregnant, that works too...)
