Northern moms / cold weather moms

What do you do for dry skin? We are using arbonne skin care for baby but we are still getting crazy dry skin on baby girl… We bathe her on Wednesdays and Sundays so we don't over dry her skin because up north in the cold there's not a lot of moisture in the air and it's very dry ( we do have it humidifier plugged in where we sleep to keep the air semi moist while we sleep)

What are you guys using? And how is your baby skin?

Re: Northern moms / cold weather moms

  • I've been using Tom's of Maine baby moisturizing lotion and it's working the best out of anything. I got it as a sample but I will be buying more.

  • Coconut oil works pretty well, we're in Colorado, it's really dry here. Her skin is still kind of dry sometimes, but the coconut oil seems to work better than other commercial lotions I've tried
  • I am using Spectro Kids face and body. It works really well on my daughters crazy dry skin.
  • Thanks for the input! :)
  • I have a humidifier in the living room and bedroom and so far has been helping our lo a lot.
  • My husband makes fun every time I slather our son in coconut oil, but it's so good for everything, and I don't have to worry about it getting on his hands into his mouth. Jojoba oil is another natural way to moisturize.

I know a lot of people are against baby oil/mineral oil, but my legs get really dry and flaky during the winter and a dermatologist recommended putting mineral oil on them after showing before drying and it works. If you tried this on baby I'd just make sure it's away from hands so they don't end up ingesting it.

I just seen the peditrician This morning and she said vasaline or aquaphor. I've already used it today and can see a major difference!

I just found a tube of aquaphor i got at our baby shower and it worked wonders!
  • Yep I second the humidifier! It's even helped my dry skin. I consume coconut oil (usually in coffee and cooking) as well as omega 3's. Moisture is great not just on the outside but the inside as well! On the skin I use Arbonne baby lotion and coconut oil on especially dry spots. I think my remedies are working great!
