MMC question?

I had one Mmc in May where the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks but I didn't find out till I was over 12 weeks. I'm now pregnant and 10 weeks 3 days. I'm wondering if anyone who has had a Mmc has had more than one and if it's possible to have one following the other? My appt is next week and my nerves are getting the best of me this week.

I completely understand your fears I am going through the same thing. I had a early mmc (stopped growing at 6 weeks found out at 8 weeks) but i knew something was wrong very early likew 5w because numbers werent doubling. Three mts later got pregger with my now 4 yr old and even the day of my c-sec I talked like it could go either way (drove hubby nuts).

I am 10 weeks pregnant today and despite great bloodwork, had a sono at 8w with strong 160 hb and saw sono again last week at ER (gallstone issue) I am so afraid that tomm when I go in for my first official OB appt with my OB dr (other sono was at fert dr office) i am so afraid its going to be over. I have no symptoms indicating mc but thats whats scary with MMC no blood and no cramping isnt really reassuring because you can have a mmc with zero signs. I have been so pessimistic...trying to protect myself from being disappointed, the that i have pysched myself into really believing its gonna be bad. So glad my appt is early tomm!!. I wish you luck keep us posted!
  • My hcg was doubling with my last Mmc which eased my mind. But they had to do another scan because I had a hemorrhage and they wanted to check on it. That's when they found they baby had died. I had all the symptoms of being pregnant too. Good luck at your appt TiffanyRickF. I'm hoping the best for us both.
  • I feel the same fear! I had a mmc in 2013, 3 months after got KU with dd. This September I had a natural m/c and am not KU again obviously very shortly afterwards...I'm so worried for my first appt and u/s tomorrow!
  • Good luck with your appt.
  • I also am TERRIFIED of a MMC again.  I was 12w and baby was 9w.  It definitely changes your perception.
  • This is actually my biggest fear right now. I'm trying not to get attached for fear that I'll go to my appointment next week and it'll be a MMC, which is actually ridiculous because I've never experienced one before, so there's no real reason for concern...at least not that I know of. Fingers crossed we all have growing babies in there!
  • I'm likely going through an mmc. I'm trying to have a glimmer of hope, but it isn't looking good. I'm broken and my dh is very far. I hope you aren't going through this. May you all have healthy pregnancies.
  • I'm so sorry @decoycandy

  • Same boat- lost my first pregnancy at 8 weeks- but didn't find out until our NT scan at 12.  Its heartbreaking to not only have lost the baby- but to have the feeling that you were living a lie for a month.

With this pregnancy I cried during the first ultrasound when i saw the heartbeat because I just didn't believe it was there.  A week later I had some bleeding and was a mess thinking it was happening again.  Luckily we got another ultrasound and saw the baby having grown a week and still had a healthy heartbeat.  Even with two positive ultrasounds under my belt I still can't enjoy this pregnancy.  All I can think about is that last time we saw the baby at 8 weeks and it was fine... and the last time we saw this one was at 8 weeks... and 8 weeks doesn't mean anything.  I haven't had alot of morning sickness with this pregnancy- but the infrequent occurrences have become extremely rare and short lived this past week justing adding to my anxiety.

I have my NT scheduled for next Wednesday and I'm terrified.  I see my Dr this Saturday before the scan and I'm just praying we can hear the heartbeat on the doppler (but I have low hopes because the early bleeding was confirmed to be caused by placenta previa and this can make it difficult to feel early movement and hear the heartbeat on the doppler).

FX for all of us- MMC are super scary but my doctor did let me know that it's super rare to have two miscarriages in a row.

  • @LilLynch2015
I feel very similar.  We have our first u/s Monday at 7+1 and will likely see a heartbeat.  Hoping that will ease my fears but probably not because we saw the heartbeat at 7+2 with our loss and that didn't change the outcome.  It will be hard to see that baby you are so scared to lose....almost as like a chance to say goodbye or something...
  • I'm glad to hear that your doc said two in a row is rare. That eases my mind a bit. I can't wait for my u/s Tuesday. It's gonna be at my docs office so if there is something wrong I will know immediately. But the morning sickness is kicking my butt right now. Hoping all the best to all you ladies and keep us all updated on your pregnancies.

I feel the same way... I went for another scan yesterday I thought based on my first scan I would be 10w0d yesterday and they redue dated me at 9w1d the dr said it was normal theres a window for error and it was a dif office that did the first scan..plus 1st scan they moved my due day up so really this just moved me back 3 days but I can't help but feel this is bad. My next scan is almost 3 weeks. The heartbeat was still 150's but still.

Anyone have experience with due date moving back after 1 scan and everything being fine.
  • @decoycandy so so sorry you are going through that! :(
