If you have spotted during your pregnancy...

For the women that have spotted through previous pregnancies...

I have been spotting now for 11 days.  I know it can be normal, and some just do that.  However, I was more so curious if any women that have had spotting for extended periods (like throughout your pregnancy), if you ever found out a cause for it?  It is just a strange thought to think - something in side of me is bleeding.  And has been bleeding for 11 days.  I had a u/s on day 3 of spotting - but there was nothing conclusive.

Thanks ahead of time!

I spotted from week 6 to week 10 with only a 5 day break about 11 days in. They could never find a reason why and it did no harm to the baby. It can be nerve wracking but if you've been checked and cleared, everything is fine. I had to trust that even though it's not normal, it's "normal" for my body. The doctor said women's cervix get sensitive when pregnant so mine might just be extra sensitive and bleed easier. The bleeding has been gone for over 2 weeks now for me! I'm sure yours will end soon too

ETA- I spotted a lot in the beginning with my son, again at 5 months and again at 7 months. All 3 times he was fine and is a healthy 1 1/2 year old now!

I had weeks of spotting from week 5 to week 9.5.I went for an u/s at 8 weeks and they said baby was fine and that they had no reason they could see (like old blood or anything). So they did a blood test and said progesterone was low. I have been on pills for the last 3 weeks and within a week of starting them , it stopped. This was my second so I knew that spotting happens and can be fine but I was glad I got it checked out because it was every day up to starting the meds.

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • I had heavy bleeding throughout my previous pregnancy because of a large subchorionic hematoma that they were able to find it at my 20 week scan.
  • The longest I spotted red was for a week or two around 6-8 weeks. I had infections.
My SIL bled red for the entire first trimester, filled pads, and they never knew why. Hes now a sweet little 16 month old.

  • I had brown spotting for a week or two, followed by a few days of red spotting. My midwives suspect it was from a subchorionic hematoma leaking, but couldn't say for certain. It seems to have finally stopped and I hope it stays that way. It's so stressful, even if you're constantly being told it's not a big deal! I feel your pain.
  • I spotted this pregnancy between 5 and a half weeks and 12 weeks. There was no known cause. I was sure I had a subchorionic hematoma, which was what made me spot last pregnancy. But nope, all 3 ultrasounds showed no cause!

My spotting did seemed to correlate a bit with exercise. But I didn't know if exercise was "making" me bleed, or just causing my body to expel more blood that would have come out anyway.
