Twatwaffle Tuesday

Maternity clothes are a TW! At 38+3 with a large baby these shirts aren't long enough. Even with a maternity cami underneath my sweater it's a constant struggle to keep this belly contained and "business appropriate"

Also stretch marks, painful itchy and raised after 34 weeks of diligent moisturizing.

  • Tiredness is a TW

I woke up at 11am, lay in bed and had a nap at 12pm and I'm still tired...
I was going to be productive today
  • My stupid coworker who shunned my offers of help. She threw me under to bus with our new boss on Friday and with me having 2 days of work left, decides she wants all of this crap from me.
  • @Court11152325 I wish I could wear sweat pants, even leggings to work would be nice, crocs no way (but I have been wearing my dress code violation UGGS for a few weeks)

@taysun can't wait for your announcement!
  • Sore boobies is a TW! Honestly you'd think breast feeding would go smoother and with less pain.
My toddler is also a TW for waking up at 330 and never going back to sleep!

I'm OK with shirts luckily, but stupid maternity jeans will not stay up. They drive me absolutely insane!!!
  • DH fits this category today, he woke up after 7 hrs of blissful snore-filled sleep and said "omg I'm so tired!". I woke up no less than 10 times to pee, couldn't get back to sleep after 4am. He is going to be on nighttime diaper duty for a long time.
  • Amen for Hubbys clothes. I am in thrm 24/7 now. My maternity clothes are just too tight :/
  • The twatwaffles in my life today are my washer for suddenly dying when I have tons of clothes to wash both for the family and for this LO's arrival, and my kitchen sink for deciding to start leaking all over my counter top and down into the cabinet, onto the floor. I live in a fairly new neighborhood and a lot of others have had the same problem with their sinks. They all got it fixed or replaced for free as there is supposedly a lifetime warranty. However when I called the company yesterday, they said there is no such thing and wanted to charge me for a new hose. So they are twatwaffles today too.
  • My damaged mail is TW, it all goes to my PO Box and 2 boxes had been delayed. I finally got them today and they were all bent out of shape and wet...both had cloth items in them so I'm glad that I got them on the day they were delivered to the post office, since the boxes would have started to mold. But now I have to go wash 2 incomplete loads of laundry (since I did laundry yesterday) and the items are wet...
  • Thinking of you @taysun !!

I also have itchy skin as my TW. I already don't sleep, now I have this to bother me as well. Moisturizing doesn't even help. I'm so glad I have a doctors appointment for today. ❤️ Ready to know how I'm doing.
  • SO was a TW last night because all night long he was the world's biggest blanket hog.

Also my body is a TW for not already being in labor
  • Thought of another one..

I had to update my ID card yesterday...at 37 weeks pregnant. I've finally started packing on the pounds and it's all going to my face! I have a very obvious double chin in my picture and the lady wouldn't let me take another. Lol :(

I know this sounds horrible, but DH and I fought about this to the point of ridiculousness.  Our solution was that he has his blankets and I have mine.  The downside is that you can't have a nicely made bed, if that is a preference of yours, but we haven't fought since.

  • @rockinmathchic and @mbecca11 same... We even have our own top sheets! I just tuck them at the half way point. Not sure when we will be able to share again.
I had to strategically angle the fan so it only blows on me ;). He learned not touch the pregnant ladies fan!
  • My DH is also a little bit of a twatwaffle, though he did redeem himself slightly. I got up to get DD off to school at 6:30am, plus started working from home at 7:30am, OB appt at 9:15am, rush home to continue working on crazy deadlines I have this week. So a pretty busy, stressful day.

DH didn't get out of bed until 1pm! Sure, he went to bed at 2am, but SO DID I. So then he wakes up and the first thing he says is "Oh, I feel like crap."

But he did run and buy me lunch. And he has a major job opportunity that might actually hire him before Christmas!

But now he's resting/sleeping on the couch. I, on the other hand, am still working. :/

  • I interviewed for my job at 12 weeks and looked up laws on what I was obligated to say. It later turns out that the woman told her I "lied about being pregnant" but that's another story...
  • Colds are TW. Both my 3 year old and my 1 year old have been sick with congestion and are not taking naps today even though they are extremely tired. They were both coughing when they first went down but now the one year old is keeping the three year old awake. After two and a half hours of being in bed they are still awake. It also makes it more difficult to want to have this next LO (so ready to be done too like most others) since I wouldn't want the baby to get sick. Just go away congestion!!
  • People asking how I feel, when she is coming, and saying they thought she'd be here now are TW's. The only appropriate question to ask a pregnant person this late in the game is 'would you like chocolate (any other food really)?' Yes, yes I would actually.

This, this, this! Its lovely that people are so excited to meet our LOs but seriously? Are you paranoid that I would just go off and have my baby without telling anyone? Oh you didn't know I had a baby last year? Don't worry, I'll let you know when he makes an appearance. I'm only two days past my due date so everyone acting all surprised is going to really get on my nerves if he goes much longer? Still being pregnant on the 7th when you're due the 6th isn't really "omg no way!" Worthy people.
  • @jjmace Weirdly now that you mentioned it I think most grocery stores I've been in put the popcorn kernels on the bottom shelf.
  • My brain is a TW! In the middle of the night I woke up and reset my alarm clock cause I thought it was Wednesday. My kids have late days at school on Wednesdays. So they both were so upset with me when I woke them both up late cause they new it was only Tuesday. Then later i forgot my son had an after school activity. I waited in the school parking lot for him to come out of class for 10-15 wondering what the heck was taking him so long. Well I was actually an hour early picking him up. What a day....this is what happens when I don't get a nap.

Bottom shelf at Trader Joes you are a TW!  It figures that the popcorn kernels are on the bottom shelf.  I'm assuming they are not a popular item.  My 39 week bump and I squatted down for the grab and got stuck.  Pregnant lady down...stuck...duck walking...waddled her way up!  Way to go Me...so ridiculous! To the other shoppers in the snack aisle with me... I don't blame you for staring at me.  I truly hope labor day comes before we need more groceries!

I will be eating an extra large bowl of air popped popcorn with real butter, salted to my liking tonight... Oh yes!

I purposely take my DH when I go shopping lately for this very reason. Except three days ago I thought he was behind me so I knelt down to grab something from the bottom shelf. I turned around to have him help me up and he was gone!! And I was stuck!! So I squatted there for a good two minutes before a stranger offered to help me up. When I found DH wandering the aisles I started to cry instantly. He felt really bad though. So I wasn't really mad at him. Just so embarrassed. :(
  • @taysun - thinking of you today! Can't wait to see your announcement.

@amye02 - I was at the OB yesterday and a very pregnant lady walked in in blue crocs and sweats with roses and guns on them. I think we've crossed the threshold of caring (picture included of this).

DH is a twatwaffle today. He woke me up twice last night to tell me I was snoring. 1) I was already waking up every hour because of some worries from yesterday. 2) I offered to sleep in the other room and he refused. Quit waking me up. 3) we have a king sized bed! Quit being all up in my face trying to steal my snoogle and maybe I won't be snoring right in your face.

OMG! I love that she does not give a shit & those nails are wicked too! I'd be worried I'd injure baby with those talons!

I agree though, maternity clothes are a TW right now! Tops that ride up, pants that slide down. Also, my jeans are too uncomfortable to wear b/c the top of them, just below the panel, digs into my bladder SO much these days I can't sit down in them at all!
  • @LMJL one of my good friends is a L&D nurse at the hospital here and I sent her that pic and she was like, "those nails have got to go before she gets here!"
