Playtex dropins and pumping

So I am 30 weeks and trying to get everything situated for baby's arrival. This is baby #3 so no shower, but was also unexpected so I didn't save much from #2. When I nursed my son, I used drop in liners when I went back to work, for pumping and storage. Back 4 years ago, playtex made this neat cap so I didnt have a million bottles in my freezer but now I can't find them for sale. Does anyone else pump into playtex drop ins, and how do you store them?

Re: Playtex dropins and pumping

  • I use Playtex Drop ins and bottles but I don't pump into the drop ins. I am trying to imagine how that would be feasible since the drop in bags are open ended with no way to close the top part. I use a Medela PSA and pump into bottles then I transfer into Lanisoh bags. I used to use the Medela bags but they got to be too expensive! Then I use the Playtex drops in when I'm actually making the bottle.

  • They don't make the drop ins like they used to. They are the form of the bottle now and not like a bag that you rubber band close. I buy milk storage bags at target and then pour them into the drop ins. Playtext is still my favorite afte 4 kids
  • I have Medela storage bags, which came with an attachment (a funnel really) to pump straight into the bags, but the bags don't transfer to the bottles. I dont use the attachment because I'm so afraid I'll spill lol!

I pump into small bottles and keep 1 or 2 in the fridge in case I need. When I have plenty in the fridge I transfer the oldest to a Medela bag and freeze it.
