Re: Friday Ticker Change - 12/4

  • Week/Fruit: 15/Navel Orange

Rants/Raves: Tension headaches/migraines, I'm definitely getting more hungry, RLP when I sneeze, peeing at night. But really, everything is going pretty good!

Upcoming appointments: 12/11 - next Friday

Questions for the Group: Any tips on where to start? We have so much to do but I just can't figure out where to start.

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet? Nope, hence my above question. I have ideas and a Pinterest board.

  • Week/Fruit: 17/Onion. What a terrible vegetable to compare a baby to.

Rants/Raves: Headaches, pain in one side of my groin that I'm assuming to be RLP, peeing a lot (pretty sure baby kicks my bladder regularly).

Upcoming appointments: 12/16. So excited. They said they would put all the photos and video on a DVD for me too!

Questions for the Group: What are some things to look for in a pediatrician?

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet?
No. We have to figure out all that fun stuff out as we don't have a space only for baby.

  • @aehogan90 - we are using the family doctor I grew up with so I wouldn't really know. I would suggest asking what their policy is on certain things you feel strongly about (whether it's vaccines, when to call, etc.) and meet with him/her to see if you get a good feeling. Ask for recommendations from people around you for who they like and who to avoid. I go with my gut a lot and it really doesn't steer us wrong.
  • Week/Fruit: 16/ avocado

Rants/Raves: lots and lots of growing/stretching discomforts...hoping this means that feeling the baby will come soon.

    Upcoming appointments: December 8

Questions for the Group: none today

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet? Nope! We move in a few days so once we get to VA, unpacked, and all settled in our new house we will start on the nursery.
  • Week/Fruit: 17/onion

Rants/Raves: I could do without the cramp like sensations- they tend to freak me out a bit but they also only go away if I move around- so at least my energy is back in full force! My doctor keeps telling me not to worry if I don't feel movement because it's rare to feel movement this early but I really think I've been feeling this baby dancing up a storm-- especially if I drink a cherry limeade- apparently baby LOVES them!

Upcoming appointments: Had one yesterday! (baby's heartbeat is 147). Next is Dec. 29th for the anatomy scan!

Questions for the Group: again. nothing.

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet? This weekend! We have to empty out all the furniture we shoved in there, hubby is going to rip up the carpet, we'll scrub the stained areas with an enzyme scrub and while that's drying we'll start on the walls. Usually I'm the really ambitious one but my hubby thinks we'll get a lot more done this weekend than I do. He things we will 1) clear the room 2) rip up the carpet and the staples and the tacks 3) scrub the floors 4) seal the floors 5) paint the walls AND 6) start laying the laminate. I think he's a bit crazy especially because his energy goes away before mine.
  • Week/Fruit: 17/onion

Rants/Raves: just got home from a week in Austin for work. traveling while pregnant is exhausting!! I feel like it's been nonstop eating since thanksgiving and feel like I've gained a ton of weight and I've definitively popped. I'm also pretty sure I can feel a dancing baby every now and then. Other then that though, feeling pretty good, just bloated again.

Upcoming appointments: Dec 11 for next appt and anatomy scan. Waiting until Christmas to find out the sex with hubby and the family!

Questions for the Group: none yet

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet? Once we figure out if it's a boy or girl we'll start. Right now it's hot pink, so we'll need to decide if we're painting or not!
    Baby #2 EDD: May 13th!

Upcoming appointments: 2 weeks our 2nd ultrasound, hope baby boy is growing okay

    Questions for the Group:

  • aehogan90, I got lucky & wound up with a great one & I used the pediatrician that seen my first born in the hospital at birth. She knows I'm not one of those Mom's & even gave me her cell # for emergencies! The only thing that bothers me about my pediatrician's office is they don't have a "sick room" for kids & parents to go to. I hate taking my kids in when they are sick in fear of getting others sick but I hate it even more when we go in for checkups & there are kids all around us that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt are contagious & they are out playing with the toys my kids are playing with. She changed locations & her old office had a "sick room" so I kind of got spoiled to that!
  • Week/Fruit: 17, onion

Rants/Raves: my neck has been sore all week from sleeping weird. I used to be a stomach sleeper (with a thin pillow) so now that I can't sleep that way anymore I got a fluffy pillow for side sleeping, hoping that will help but my neck is still sore. :(

Upcoming appointments: I have my anatomy scan 12/16, as well as a check for cervical length (having twins)

Questions for the Group: Any favorite books?

GTKY: Have you started on the nursery yet? Nope. Will probably get serious after Christmas but have been planning/gathering a few things. This is our 3rd baby so we have a crib but I've been shopping online for some other things. The hand-me-downs are flooding in. It's like people hear 'twins' and the hand-outs start pouring in! Mostly this has been good (some things are going directly to Goodwill though!).

I will try to check in more with this group on Fridays! :) Always counting the days!
  • Ok I have to update and give my hubby major props. Not only did we get out the carpet, paint the room AND start the floor- we actually finished the floor! We still have to reattach the trim but I'm super impressed we got that much done!
  • @bookelf221 we got stuff done too! It felt great!

I've loved having a family doc who is also my doctor. Our office has a nurse practitioner as well, and I find that means they always get baby in same day with one of the docs or the NP. If I could do it over again I'd find somewhere with Saturday hours though!
