Spotting at 10 weeks

I am 10w3d and have had mild cramping throughout these first weeks, but no spotting... Until today when I went to the restroom and there was a little bit of blood on the tissue. Is this normal? Has anyone else been through this? My last pregnancy I miscarried, so I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid or if I really should be concerned?

Re: Spotting at 10 weeks

  • Most of what I've read encourages you to call the doctor at any sign of bleeding so they can check and rule things out. Give them a call. It will give you peace of mind if nothing else.

  • Spotting can be normal, but if you call your doctor they will likely see you to make sure everything is okay. It'll make you feel a lot better.
  • Was it dark or bright red blood? I had spotting at 12 weeks and all was okay. My doctor told me for an unexplained reason, 25% of women have bleeding in pregnancy. I would still 100% call you doctor immediately and they will ask you what your symtpoms are and they will tell you what the next step you should take. I knOw this is hard, as it was an agonizing 24 hours for me until my appointment, but just relax with your feet up and do as little moving as possible. I am sure all will be okay.
  • 100% wss^ .

Please look after yourself and I wish you good news and that it is just normal spotting. Don't be afraid to call your OB if you are worried though.

  • Spotting can be normal but I would call your OB/midwife just to make sure everything is ok
  • Let us know! I've heard several cases of people spotting recently and all was just fine. One person I know actually started bleeding- clots and all- and it turned out baby was fine.
  • Call your doctor. I was bleeding on Wednesday night 11w4d and they got me in the first thing thursday morning, baby is fine. They said some bleeding can happen, call to double check.

  • It is dark red, almost brown. I haven't experienced it again, but I still went ahead and made an appointment for tomorrow just in case. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for everything ladies!!
  • Call your OB. It can be normal but you want to be safe. I had to go to the hospital a couple of weeks ago and everything turned out to be fine.

  • I had bright red blood with clots at 9 weeks and again at 11 weeks. Quickly went from bright red to dark red, then brownish by morning. I'm at 12wk5d and everything continues to be fine. During an ultrasound at the 11wk bleeding they diagnosed me with a SCH and said it's very scary to have bleeding but also very common. Keep us updated. Thinking of you and LO.
  • Sending prayers! It's most likely fine but def double check with your dr. I bled at 15 weeks with DS and they said it was from a little lump thing in my cervix that ruptured from lifting too much. Keep us posted!
