Just doing a roll call for moms due with multiples. I want to add the info to the spread sheet and this is going to be the easiest way to do that. Thank you

  • Me too! Twins, due 6/18 but will probably may or early June.

Speaking of multiples, are you guys super nauseaous and tired all the time? This pregnancy is so much worse than my first. How are you guys getting through the work day? I have no energy at the end of the day for my toddler. Feeling like a bad mom but she's been watching a lot of tv at night.

Yes.  I'm throwing up, too.  I'm a SAHM which is good and bad.  I am not productive now but hopefully it will get better eventually.

  • Twins! :)
    Due June 23rd
  • Love this thread! I'm pregnant with twins and tentatively due June 27th. I'm feeling every emotion in the book- excited, scared, etc. MS has been bad some days, others nothing. Can't wait for the first trimester to be over!
Has anyone had their first obgyn? What are good questions to ask about having multiples?

I'd recommend checking this book out for questions.

Hi all. I'm due in July but found out today I'm expecting di/di twins so I figured I'd get acquainted with the June board, as well, since my first twins were born at 35 weeks. Yep, that's right, we have 8 month old twins and have another set on the way (oh my)! Congratulations and best to everybody for a healthy pregnancy!
welcome and wow!!! how crazy is that?! congratulations!
  • We're having multiples, too!  I'm pregnant with triplets right now but the doctor doesn't think the third one will make it.  The sac isn't growing like it should.  We'll know more after our appointment this week.  So most likely, it'll be twins for us.  I'm due June 28.

Congrats! How exciting. I have a friend who has two sets of identical twins that are 22 months apart. When she had he last she was so glad it was a single ;)

I'm a STM but my first was just one.  With him I showed about 16 weeks.  I have a slight bump now but not really pregnant looking.  I live in leggings or yoga pants or maternity jeans.  It's better with the morning sickness.

With my first set, we told immediate family as soon as we found out at 5w6d and my mother told the rest of the world. This time around, I told her to not tell anybody until I say so, which will probably be around 12 weeks.

    Congratulations!

I started buying maternity clothes around 13 weeks with my first twins but probably didn't need to actually wear them until 16 weeks or so. (But once I started to show, I really blew up...my fundal height was 55 cm at 35 weeks!)

I'm only 7 weeks with these twins and still fit in my regular clothes so I'm guessing I have at least another 6 weeks until I break the maternity clothes back out.

    Congratulations!

  • Hope it's okay for me to chime in since I'm carrying a singleton this time. :)

@iSalsa, holy moly! We have a couple mamas in my local MoM's groups with multiple multiples. You are amazing!

@RMM1204, I didn't start showing with my 1st until 15 weeks or so. With my twins, I was in maternity pants by 10 weeks. I got big FAST.

  • 10 weeks (their measuring 5 days ahead) with moni/di twinners!! Due end of June but will be happy if we make it til end of May. Suprise of a life time! I have three kids 6,5 and 3 and my partner has two (9, and 2) ... were in for a crazy wonderful ride ♡
  • Im 10/11 weeks now and weve told our parents and a few close close friends. I havnt even told my other kiddos yet because im nervous that something might happen. Hopefully after my next appt (monday ) ill feel better about telling people!!
  • Thx everyone! I ordered a bunch of maternity stuff on cyber Monday. My clothes are just uncomfortably tight and I don't know how I feel about the bella band. May try it out, but I don't like the idea of being in old clothes unzipped.

Did/do any of you treat with a perinatologist? I had my first obgyn visit yesterday and she wants me to see a perinatologist once a month alongside my obgyn treatment. I am anxious to know what extra treatment the perinatologist will give?! Any ideas?
  • @RMM1204 what kind of twins are you having? Multiple pregnancies are always considered high risk, and it is a good idea to be working with a peri or maternal fetal medicine Doctor. My enchronologist wouldn't let me go to a regular OB because of the risks. Also, you want a hospital that has a level 3 NICU in case the babies have to spend time there. Check out "when you are expecting twins, triplets, or multiples" by Barbara Luke.

Yes, I haven't even actually seen my regular OB yet.  I went straight from my RE to the perinatologist (triplets).  They just monitor progress on their own as they have more experience/education with high risk.  I believe they will do the actual delivery, too.

Yes, we started seeing a perinatologist from 12 weeks on.  My twins were sharing a placenta, but not a sac (mono-di), so we were monitored every two weeks for TTTS.  Once I hit 28 weeks, my scans because bio-physical exams weekly.  They checked to make sure each twin had at least 3 movements in a certain time period and showed signs of practiced breathing (that was really cool to watch).  They told me from 28 weeks on, to be prepared that if they didn't like what they saw, my appt could immediately turn into bedrest or delivery.  We still made it to my scheduled c-section date at 36+6.

  • Hi! Expecting mono-Di twins June 1st. Seeing my OBGYN for the first time next Thursday (15 weeks). The hospital doesn't have an NICU but a special care nursery? Don't know the difference. Anyways I read the dr Luke book and I will ask to be at the hospital with the level 3 NICU although it is about 1-2 hours away :(
  • @pia_colada, even with it being far away, you're doing the right thing requesting the more equipped NICU. The #1 thing that is true with twin pregnancies (particularly mono ones) is that they are unpredictable. I had a friend who delivered at 27 weeks at her regional hospital, and her boys were life-flighted to the university hospital equipped to care for preemies. She didn't even see them for 4 days. Not telling this to scare you. I just felt better being at a hospital where they could get immediate care.

  • Yes very true! If anything were to happen I would never forgive myself for not doing everything I could to advocate for them and their well-being. Even if it makes me look crazy or annoying but I'm sure the Dr.s understand this.
  • We are having di-di twins, due June 1 but expect them in May. I am into maternity clothes since about 11 or 12 weeks... They are just more comfy with all the vomiting that is happening. In my last pregnancy I was more sick in the 2nd tri, which seems to be starting again. Everyone knows at work because I am not a quiet vomiter, if that is even a word. We have had RE, MFM and OB appts about every 2 weeks and they will continue until they become twice weekly NSTs. Best of luck to everyone!
  • Due with a singleton June 6 but I have mono/di girls that were born October 2013. Let me know if anyone needs any encouragement from a current twin mom.
  • Also, any twin mommies on Facebook, twinipedia and Mo/Di Twins are awesome support groups to join : )

My mono/di boys were born in December 2013. They've become so much fun, now that they realize they are besties. :)

  • Hi all, I am expecting twins 7/3 but will likely come in early June. I have a 4 year old girl and 17 month old boy. Feeling so excited but overwhelmed with the idea of 4 kids under the age of 5. Glad to see so many other June moms expecting multiples. :)
