Feeling of birth

For the past week I have had this over whelming feeling that baby is about to come. FTM due date Feb 8 so I still have a ways to go. Although I'm sure baby will be here in January. Any truth to these feelings or is it some anxiety kicking in?

I was convinced my first would come early. I measured 3 weeks ahead my whole pregnancy and the Drs told me I'd deliver early and changed my due date. I was just telling DH last night that at this time with my first I was convinced I only had a few weeks left lol. She came 3 days AFTER my original due date. Little turd.

Edited to add that for me it was first time mom jitters. Being pregnant gave me a lot of anxiety the first time.

This gives me hope! Me AND the baby are measuring 2.5ish weeks ahead and the doc seems to think I'll go early. I'm praying not to and would love to go about a week later than my due date if possible! Were you and baby measuring ahead? Or just your uterus?

This gives me hope! Me AND the baby are measuring 2.5ish weeks ahead and the doc seems to think I'll go early. I'm praying not to and would love to go about a week later than my due date if possible! Were you and baby measuring ahead? Or just your uterus?

All of the above were measuring ahead. The changed my due date from 8/25 to 8/10. Then they told me I'd have a 9lb baby. Then they told me they wouldn't induce until after my original due date. It was a mess. I had a normal 7lb 9oz baby, though. I wasn't impressed with my care at that hospital. Hence going to a midwife this time lol

I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead with this one too so I'm fully expecting to go a few days over my due date again lol. I tell everyone I'm due on the tenth but I'm thinking Valentine's Day

At my last ultrasound I was measuring about 10 days ahead. I was convinced that I would go early with DS1---and still ended up having to be induced. This time, I am just preparing in case DS2 comes early---but otherwise not getting it in my head that he will be here before his due date.

I wouldn't let a "feeling" sway you or get you disappointed if things don't happen the way you think they're going to. with #1 i went 2 weeks early and I had no idea. I hadn't even had a cervical check yet but i did feel extra uncomfortable that day. with #2 i had a feeling things were progressing so my dr. did a cervical check at 35 weeks and I was already like 2 cm and he was like you need to keep that baby in there and he was convinced that baby was going to come a couple weeks early at least as well. my little guy came 5 days early. It just made me really anxious and irritable b/c I wanted it to happen and it didn't. moral of the story...this time, no expectations. I'm just want baby to come when it's good and ready.

I was convinced my first would come early and ended up needing to be induced four weeks early. There was no sign that would have led the doctors to believe that the baby would come early until that 36 week appointment. I guess it was Mother's Day until that 36 week appointment. I guess it was Mother's intuition

DS1 measured 6 weeks ahead for the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy and I was induced at 41w 5d. I was in prodmal labor for 6 weeks and man I tell you what I was so mad my feelings were so off. This time I'm going with the fact that I will go late and that's it. No expectations.

I felt that way with my first too, ended up having to be induced just before 42 weeks.

I was super convinced that I would be early last time, like many of the pp - I think we just get so excited to see our LO and feeling 'over' the whole being pregnant thing. My daughter came right on time last time. I often wonder if this one will be early because I feel pressure low, but then I tell myself she'll come when she's ready.

My mom likes to say all pregnant women have this feeling (that baby will be early).

I was entirely convinced I'd be a week late with my first.. Then delivered over three weeks early.

I keep having the feeling I will be early this time around, and it's messing with my head too

I had no idea with my first and went into labor before 39 weeks. So it can come at anytime I say!

@bublesmiled - #2 for me was super low! he came early but not as early as his sister. I think it's just more common for it to be low the second time around maybe.

This baby is so much lower than my first! I swear some days it feels like she's just chilling in my crotch lol.

I wouldn't go with any sort of feeling, and I wouldn't convince yourself the baby will be here in January. Just take care of yourself and let that baby cook until it's ready. Best of luck to you!

When I peed on a stick with DS1 and it was positive, I knew he was a boy and he'd be 2 weeks early. I was right on both.

With this one, I thought he was a girl but was off. Obviously I don't know if my "early" thought is true, so I can't speak to that one for this round.

My point being: usually it's just thoughts or worry. Science can't prove a connection between our thoughts/feelings like that and reality, so I'd just tell yourself to calm down and not stress.

I'm a FTM and don't really have a feeling of when I will go. But, my husband has a work trip across the country 3 weeks before my due date AND my OB is on vacation that same week. So with my luck...Ill probably go that week. Haha I'm praying I don't though cause I might have a panic attack if they are both gone.

I felt that with my first if I wasn't induced she would have never came out. They induced me a week early because they thought her head was too big.

This time around I feel like he will come early. Got the feeling today and it worries me a little. Not sure how early but early.

My pregnancy brain makes me not remember if I ready posted on this and I'm too lazy to check so sorry if it's a repeat
I didn't really have a feeling with DD. I just assumed she'd be late cuz I was 2 weeks late. If she wasn't induced 1 week early in pretty sure she would of been late because I was what my doc called "closed and thick" aka no sign of labor.
This time I do have a feeling Im going to be early but I think it's just because I have so many braxton hicks this time

All babies on my side and bfs side of the family have been early! One was 3 months early! I have a strong feeling baby boy will be here in January but I'm hoping he will cook the full 40 weeks! Idk if everyone being early will have any effect on when baby comes or not tho!

I just wanted to add, since I had another one last night. I keep having dreams the I have the baby at Christmas gatherings. Like he's not born on Christmas but before. They are so realistic it's weird

My son's due date was the same day as my OB's last day at the practice I went to. He was moving across the country to start a new position. Unfortunately I had complications with DS that made me high risk and I was so paranoid that I was going to go late the entire time I was pregnant.

I ended up going into labor 12 days before my due date but it was probably due to stress. My family and I had just placed my Dad in a nursing home facility the night before. My water broke less than 12 hours later and DS was born 23 hours after that.
