Any other ladies diagnosed with incompetent cervix and needing a cervical cerclage done? Or have had one before? I'm slightly freaking out about needing one next week!
2 successful pregnancies, and number 3 was a 2nd trimester loss in june from cervix dialating without preterm labor. Ive never had trouble during a pregnancy before.

Edited bc my phone can't spell

  • My friend her baby didn't make it either but her next pregnancy was successful and took every precaution there was.

  • I had one with DS (he's 2) and am getting another in about a week. My doc does it at a surgery center with a spinal. It's quick and a great peace of mind.

  • Sorry to hear this! I have a friend who had this problem and has two healthy babies -- both were born premature and she was on bedrest, but there are things they can do to stop labour!
  • My cousin had to have a cerclage with her 2nd and 3rd pregnancies after a second tri loss with her first child. She now has 2 beautiful children that she carried full term thanks to the cerclage. Prayers for you and so thankful there is an option to help!
  • Thanks, everyone. I think I'm just freaking out because
    1) I had med free births because I hate needles
    2) I'll be awake and alone (I really wanted to be put under).

I actually cried when I woke up this morning bc I had an awful dream about it
  • I was awake too - it only takes a minute! Tell the doctor how nervous you are. They had a nurse up by my head the whole time. It took five times as long for the anesthesia to wear off then the actual procedure!

  • I'm keeping an eye on this post. I will have cerclage in a couple weeks. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June and had surgery in September. My doc says my cervix is thinner than he'd like and he's concerned

  • @Philter14 I've told my doc my concerns and he said the anesthesiologist decides. I guess I'm frustrated, too, because had I gone to the other hospital in area (same doc) to have it done, they put you under. I just hate that hospital.

They are telling me 45 minutes to do it...that's a long time to talk to someone I font even know. I dont even talk to my husband that much lol. Hubs is going to try to talk them Friday morning because he's been dealing with my panic attacks.
