So not too long ago my sister, husband and I were talking and my husband said something that made me laugh. Afterwards my sister said "you do it too!" And I didn't know what she was talking about but she said she's always noticed with herself (6 kids) and other pregnant women that when they laugh it's much harder and more genuine seeming.
After she said that I noticed it in myself. I've always been a laugher but I DO laugh harder every single time and it's like I have loss of control. It's a much free'er laugh! Obviously not a bad thing but I thought it was interesting and wanted to know if anyone else noticed. I haven't really been around many other pregnant women so I haven't been able to see it with anyone else but my sister says she notices it with all her friends too.
Any thoughts?
Re: Laughing during pregnancy :)
I actually want to at least in part blame this on hormones. If hormones make us miserably emotional, it sort of stands to reason that they would make us giddily emotional too. On normal days (ie: unpregnant days) I was always a laugher but these crazy, uncontrollable fits were very rare and now in the past two weeks, I've had four or five.
I totally thought this was going to be about peeing your pants when laughing. I think once in a while I laugh disproportionately hard but they also almost always wind up in crying and I have to reassure everyone that I'm fine and not upset.
It's always been a thin line for me- laughing REALLY hard and crying but it's funny because in general I cry less now that I'm pregnant than I did before.
I, for the record, do pee my pants every time I laugh
