PSA: test your frozen breastmilk

I decided to check my frozen breastmilk the other day, just to practice the de-thawing process, etc.

The milk smelled and tasted bad. I opened another bag, same thing. Then I opened a bag I had just pumped and frozen the night before. Same thing.

Long story short, after much googling and a conversation with my LC, it appears I have a high amount of lipase in my milk. Not a problem, unless, of course you want to store your milk. There is a great article on Kelly mom about how to deal with this so you can still store it:https://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/milkstorage/lipase-expressedmilk/

In my research I had found so many moms that hadn't tested their frozen milk until the day before they went back to work, only to find out they had to toss their entire stash. Don't let this be you.
