Doula dilemma- husband is against it. what do I do?

My husband is very supportive and involved in our first pregnancy but is very stubborn against getting a doula. I have sent him articles and we have met with a doula team that has helped in 30 births but he still is against it and feels it is an unnecessary intrusion into our birth and his role. We haven't fought over anything as much as this and I am about ready to put my foot down and say- too bad! it is what I want but I hate to do that. Any words of advice?
