STM, what's on your wishlist?

Second (or more) time moms, what's on your baby wish list and/or registry? Are you going to have one, if only for the completion discount?

    Things on ours:

New video monitor with two cameras, our current one is on its last legs.
Double stroller: can't decide between a BOB Duallie or a Bugaboo Donkey.
    Carseat.
    Spectra Pump
    Halo Swivel Bassinet
Three blankets, matching the style our son has.
Tula or Lillebaby carrier, I wish I hadn't sold off my old one.

I don't think we need anything else.

  • Yes, I always make a registry for the completion discount. I don't think we need much of anything. If we have a girl, I'll eventually buy a few outfits. I have nothing against reusing big brothers' clothes, but I've been missing out on all of the clothes with ruffle butts. :)

Our co-sleeper died a while back, so I have to determine whether I want to buy a new one or just set up the PnP next to my bed. I also need to check the expiration date on my infant car seat, as we may be cutting it close.

  • Our kids will be close in age (~18 months) so looks like we will have to buy another crib. Seems like such a waste so maybe I'll buy a second hand one. I think I'll convert a dresser in our spare room into a changing table

Stroller attachments to turn our uppababy into a double

If it's a boy I'll buy some new receiving blankets and maybe a few outfits

Another white noise machine ( a godsend)
  • I will be registering because I got rid of everything when I thought I was done having kids. Ha
My needs list: monitor(T threw a piece in the garbage....), carseat, bath towels, baby bath(I kind of want that flower thing for the kitchen sink), pacifiers, any pump pieces I need(luckily I hadn't gotten rid of mine!), another noise machine (munchkin projector and noise machine is like $19 on amazon and it is amazeballs), clothes and swaddles, a cozy blanket, swing
Things I still have: crib (Once T is done with toddler bed portion. Baby starts with us, so NBD), wraps and carriers galore, pump, rocking chair

  • @ElizabethM30  Have you checked out ikea's? They are at least decently cheap. One of those second hand would be supah cheap.

  • I'm gonna do one just for the completion discount. Even though DS will be almost three when this baby arrives, we'll need another glider (we have an upholstered one in his room that he's attached to and we cuddle before bed so I don't want to take that away), we might need a new video monitor because I hate ours, or at the very least a second camera and we might need a new swing/bouncer. I think I lost a piece when I took it apart so we could move. And we need the carseat attachment for our BOB.

We also need another Ikea crib and dresser, but those won't be registered for, obviously.

  • @ElizabethM30 My first two were 17 months apart.  Our plan was to get the DaVinci mini crib (converts into a twin bed) once DD was ready to sleep on her own.  DS1 could stay in the big crib/toddler bed until DD outgrew the mini, then we'd convert the mini into a twin for DS1 and move DD into the full size crib.

  • @ElizabethM30 Definitely check out the IKEA Gulliver crib if you have a store near you. That's what we used for DS and we're planning to buy another one for this baby. Cheaper than buying a toddler bed!

I'm going to check out IKEA. Thanks for reccomendation
  • I got my DD toddler bed for $25 from a friend and she was in it at 2 1/2.  Her crib is convertible though...we just knew we were going to try for another baby.  If we have a boy we will need a lot, obviously.  If we have a girl, then probably not registering. I also have a nephew being born in a week so we would get a lot of hand me downs from him for a baby boy.  Not really sure at this point.

I guess I would like a new glider and a double stroller, but not necessities.  I did check my carseats and they are good, which is nice.
  • @ioliodio I just wanted to mention that lillebaby has a 25% off deal on their website right now, as I was stalking their website and it is on your list. :)
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Just opposite gender clothes if needed, another car seat but probably not until they are about 9 months old, and possibly a double stroller. Thinking of just babywearing and using our current stroller
  • I want a new momma roo, DS slept in it at our bedside until about 2 weeks ago!! Haha
The one we have we bought used and DS used the heck out it, it doesn't move right now so we need a new one.

  • Not sure. If this one is a boy, we won't need a lot. If baby is a girl, we'll redecorate the nursery. We'll need a big boy room for our son. So that'll be the biggest expense. Little things? I want a nursing scarf instead of just a cover. That's about all I can think of.

  • Whether this baby is a girl or boy we'll still need quite a bit (though it'll be less if it's a girl since we already have one).

My DD is 16 months so she's still using her crib, but we intend to convert it to a big girl bed.

So the list of what I'm anticipating we'll need-- new nursery furniture (crib, dresser, etc-- we went with things that were convertible and could be used long-term for our daughter), a second camera for our monitor, a double stroller, another car seat, and diapers.... you can NEVER have enough diapers.

We will complete a registry. We didn't have a shower for our first, but I know a friend of ours is planning to throw one for the second. It would be nice for people to buy things we need, if they decide to buy anything at all (please, I don't want to hear opinions on whether you think it's tacky, gift-grabby, or otherwise).

  • We really don't need anything.  DD1 will be 22 months.  She has never slept in her crib, so in a couple months we will convert her crib to toddler bed and start getting her to sleep in her own room.  New LO will just sleep in the rock n play and pack n play until they move to toddler bed, so I'm not even bothering with a crib this time.  We will need a double stroller, a new tula, and if it's a boy, clothes.  We are pretty set.  Also diapers.  lots of diapers.  I will only  create a registry to get the completion discount and rewards.  All I will actually ask anyone for would be diapers.

  • I have a two year old with a condition that prevents him from walking at this age. So double stroller will for sure Be needed. Wondering how I'm going to cart a newborn and an almost three year old around when they both need help being transported. Any advice?? I know a Tula or wrap might help with the newborn but my son can't really be put into a carrier like that because he has hip dysplasia is about to undergo surgery. Regardless we will figure it out!! :) very excited!

I work in Early Intervention and one of my families is in the same situation. You'll be doing lots of double trips (carry one upstairs and come back down for the other) and always using that stroller while out and about! I hope all goes well with your son's surgery. You're going to get much stronger carting two babies around. :)
  • A mama-roo swing. And a second car seat, but I forget the brand, but It's awesome, just expensive! That's truly about it right now. And I want to actually decorate a baby room, since we'll own our house.

  • I may need a new car seat. If we have a girl, I am all set. DD1 was also born in August so clothes should line up. If we have a boy we obviously need clothes. We need a new baby bathtub because I got rid of our old one. And a new nursery to decorate. :)

  • Definitely want a new baby carrier, since I plan to baby-wear a lot more this time around. Possibly clothes, depending on gender (DS is 20months now). We'll probably get a new crib and convert DS's into a toddler bed for him. I'll get new towels, washcloths, and small stuff since DS's have been overused at this point!

  • A city select, a breast friend pillow, a Tula, probably another crib (because I'm scared to disrupt my daughter's sleep environment), a swing. Oh and I want a pregnancy pillow.
  • I definitely do not need any more carriers, so I'll probably only get two more. I want a fancy mei tai (I have two by infantino that work well but i want one with wrap straps). I also want a rainbow wrap for mynrainbow baby.

I will also need some pump parts, and want glass bottles. I think I'll skip the double stroller (I have a car seat frame stroller for the baby, the full stroller that can be used with or without the carseat and an umbrella stroller for my toddler. I mostly baby wear, so I'm anticipating wearing at least one kid. Maybe I'll tandem wear).

We might get a rock and play, and will need some clothes if we have a girl. She will mostly be wearing what her brother outgrows though. I gave away most boy specific clothing.

  • If we have another boy we will be set! Ds was born in July so all the clothes will be the right season. If we have a girl I'll get to shop for pretty dresses!
  • Baby jogger summit x3 double or bob dualie for sure!
    Another Tula
Second camera for our video monitor

  • DD will be around 22-23 months when this baby arrives, and her crib will convert to a toddler bed when she's ready.  Depending on whether this is a boy or girl, we'll reuse a lot.
    • another camera for monitor
    • another sound machine
    • if a boy, new covers for glider (ours is pink now)
    • double stroller - either the britax b-ready or baby jogger city select.  Thinking of selling the single BOB although I love it - thoughts on whether we'll still need it?
    • clothes and bedding if a boy!

  • We need almost everything. My youngest is going to be 6 in march, and the only things we still have are the pack n play, high chair, and bouncy seat. So this is going to get expensive. I'm really hoping someone will have a shower for us to save expenses on some of the little stuff.

Just so you don't throw yourself a shower....
  • DS in 7 months old now and he'll be about 15 months when LO arrives. We will need another monitor, stroller (I have my heart set on the city select) crib, dresser/change table and if LO is a girl, obviously lots of dresses and bows
  • New car seat, ours will be expiring next December. (Chico keyfit30)

New monitor, we didn't have a video monitor for either of our DDs because their bedroom was RIGHT next to ours. But our new house is much bigger so we will be investing (recommendations appreciated)

New wrap/carrier to baby wear (recommendations appreciates)

    That's it!
  • Try all the baby carriers! More seriously, what are you looking for, @jckh912 ? Something for the newborn period, or something that will go from newborn to toddler? Something you can buy at Target, or willing to shop at a specialty store?

  • @Chichigo I'm thinking more the newborn stage. My DDs will be 5 & 2 when LO arrives and I just despise carrying the car seat everywhere. It's so heavy and unpractical for me when trying to wrangle two other adventurous little girls
  • Ours will be around 18 months apart and we bought gender neutral for most of the baby stuff the first time around. But I am now going to need: another crib, a double stroller (even though I don't know why bc my first won't even ride in a stroller), another monitor (preferably a video monitor this time), another white noise machine, some furniture for the new nursery and if it's a boy, some more clothes. Luckily, we got 2 car seats off our registry so we kept them both, knowing we wanted 2 close in age.

  • @KDHB13 - How do you like your ikea crib? I have heard good things on the safety of them, and they look really sweet - Worth a five hour round trip? (Though... to be fair, it's an hour to civilization to do anything)

  • I probably need a few more carriers. Maybe I'll try a k'tan this time. Kinderpack? Maybe maybe.
  • @jckh912 You might want to try a sling. I prefer ring slings, but you might like a pouch sling (ring slings are adjustable while pouch slings need to fit well to be safe, some are adjustable others not). Slings are a lot cooler than buckle carries like Ergo or Bjorn and much cooler than a Moby for a summer baby.

I second the ring sling. It's my favorite carrier for squishes.
