Generic formula

Any other moms tried generic formula and if so how did your LO do?
We have been using similac soy and when I went to prophase some today at our local SAMS club I was informed it's discontinued.. They were the cheapest with the biggest quantity for the price so now I'm not sure what to do and am considering parents choice?

Re: Generic formula

  • We have used store brand Similac Sensitive and our daughter had no issues with it.

  • I have used the Parents Choice AR formula and my lo did wonderful on it. We had to switch to Similac for spit up because they never had it in stock at my local Walmart. If that wasn't the case then I would still have him on the Parents Choice because it was about 10 dollars cheaper for the big tub.

  • SAMs club still sells it on there website I would stock up. And then check walmarts website since they are the same company they might have a good price

Target has soy in their up and up brand. It's cheaper and you can stock up with the baby sales. Our doctor told us soy to soy was fine. It was the water that effected it. We used similac soy premix on the road and vacations with no problems.
  • We use Costco's Kirkland brand and have no complaints!
  • I use targets AR brand and have no problems. So much cheaper.
  • We switch between similac sensitive and parents choice sensitive and he does fine. I would buy a small container of the store brand to try out. Then you're not wasting so much money if your baby doesnt tolerate the switch.
  • We switched to store brand (kroger) of Similac and have had no problems. Much cheaper and baby is doing great. ☺
  • We switched from Enfamil Gentlease to up&up gentle, it's a lot cheaper and LO actually spits up less with the up&up brand. It also smells a lot less gross, so that's a win for me. We made the switch about a week ago and she's doing great.

  • My peds dr told me that it doesn't matter what brand of formula you get its all the same. The FDA has strict guidelines on formula that they are all pretty much exactly the same. I'm currently using Enfamil gentlease which is pretty costly, I'm happy to hear @MelMel92 switched and has had good luck! I'm going to start the switch to up and up soon!
  • We use costco's kirklands!

Is Up&Up target's brand?  I use Enfamil Gentlease too and was considering trying the Parent's Choice brand, or another generic brand.
