Gender Reveal

Since a lot of us are starting to find out the gender I was wondering if anyone is planning a special gender reveal? We are having a gender ultrasound done on the 13th, going to visit DH's family out of state for Christmas and we thought it would be fun to do a gender reveal for them while we're there. Looking for some unique ideas on how to do it!

We are doing one on the 18th. I bought little pink and blue Christmas trees at Target and matching bulbs. I'm going to have each person guess the gender by putting a bulb on the tree they think it is. I'm also putting lights on it and I'll unplug which ever tree isn't the gender.

We're just doing a small thing with DH and my mom. I scheduled an ultrasound on Xmas eve because I knew I couldn't not look for too long. I'm going to have our grocery store put a few balloons in a box of the sex. Then I'll wrap it and on Christmas morning the three of us will open the present.

We aren't finding out the gender until the anatomy scan the OB does so we still have a while. I'm not planning anything big but my mom already said she wants them to put the gender in an envelope and she's going to get our immediate families together and do some type of reveal. It's the first grandbaby on either side so I said hey go for it, it's just as special to them too!

I'm kind of in the same boat as @MrsB8214 ...we will find out at the anatomy scan, & weren't really planning on doing a big reveal, but my mom has already mentioned to me that we should do cupcakes with a coloured centre to announce to immediate family. It's also the first grandbaby on either side, so our families are really excited. I'm sure we'll do a small dinner or something to share the news with them, since it obviously means so much.

For my DS, we have family over on Mother's Day and just served cupcakes for dessert that were filled with blue frosting. It wasn't a gender reveal party, and the family thought it was really fun! It caught them off guard that we were even sharing the news.

For this LO, I am not sure what we will do. At the a/s, we will have the tech put the gender (or sex if you will) in an envelop and we will open it over dinner. Our appointment is 1/13. I wish we could find out before Christmas :-) and surprise them somehow again with the news...

For our DD, we just had a casual Memorial Day cookout at our house for some friends. We asked people to either wear pink or blue, based on what "team" they were on. I baked a pink cake and covered it with white frosting, and everyone found out when I cut it open. Simple, relaxed and was fun for everyone.

I don't have the slightest clue what we'll do this time. We're not even announcing publicly until NYE, so there will on be a few weeks inbetween that and finding out the gender. My husband's birthday is 1/12, so maybe we'll be able to tie it in with that!

We (H and me) will find out the sex on Jan 8th. There's this place near us that does elective gender reveal ultrasounds on a big screen, they aren't expensive at all and they allow up to 25 people in the room. My MIL is wanting to come down in January to visit so we're thinking about booking an appointment closely after we find out the sex and inviting our close family to come and see the baby and find out the sex. I don't want to do a party or anything but I want it to be special and exciting for everyone and they'll get to see the baby at the same time. So we'll see!

We wont find out till Feb...boo!! DH is so excited to do a reveal though. I think right now we are planning on either throwing powder paint on each other or putting pink/blue paint in a super soaker and having DD shot us.

We are going to find out in January at our anatomy scan. I want to do scratchers and mail them to family. We are spread all over the place and I honestly would feel weird having a gathering for the gender reveal.

I think I'll likely call my mom and blurt out what it is as soon as we know!!! I can't keep anything from her

We haven't even announced we are adopting yet. Only about 4 people know right now, my close friends and a couple co-workers. We are planning on taking pictures this Saturday and announcing that way. Then once we find out the gender, we plan to reveal with colored frosting in cupcakes.

I scheduled my anatomy scan today. It's on January 11. I'm going to have the tech put baby's sex in an envelope and then I'll take the envelope to the local bakery. Then, the next day my parents are going to come over and we will have dinner and cut the cake together to see. I can't wait!!!!!!! It will be so fun to know if I have a son or daughter!!

We had the harmony test will have the results in a week or so. At Christmas I will be about 14 weeks. We will be surprising half the family with the gender and the other half that we are pregnant and the gender. As we stop at each house we will have a special gift for grandma to open. Either a pink or blue outfit.

We are planning to do something, probably a dinner with family and a cake with the colored center. Our anatomy scan isn't going to be until the mid-end of January so we have time. I want to do something special because the pregnancy wasn't a true surprise because of treatment. We could do a reveal to everyone because we had family and friends texting us beginning two weeks after transfer.

I love all your ideas! We want to do something at Christmas Eve dinner, its going to be hard to decide! I am kind of leaning towards pink and blue (or maybe red and green) balloons, everyone takes whichever color they think the baby will be and then blows them up at the same time but before hand I will poke holes in all of whatever color it isn't so only the right ones will inflate. My sister in law suggested popping a balloon with confetti but that just sounds like a big mess to me and its not at my house so I would feel bad making a big mess there haha

We won't find out until February- it's so far away!! BUT my birthday is February 21st- so I'm thinking about having a birthday party with my brithday cake being the gender reveal. I want to have it casual- but I also want to plan something to be excited about with this pregnancy.

We have our NT scan on the 16th- so we decided against doing Christmas card announcements- since it would be cutting it so close. I really just want to do something exciting for this pregnancy and this would be the next big thing.

With DS I gave my mom and MIL an ultrasound picture and a blue scarf for Christmas. Our anatomy scan was two days before but I lied and said my appointment wasn't until the following week. But... No one got it. I've learned to be a lot more obvious this time around!

To tell my side I think I'm going to make cupcakes with colored frosting inside and we'll do a little reveal at our "winter birthday party." My immediate family is 18 people when it's only my parents, siblings and all our children so we have to group everyone's birthdays into seasons.

I don't know know how we'll tell DH's side. I know my MIL wants us to have a big "sex party" but I'm just not interested in getting people together just to find out the sex of my baby.

We dnt find out for atleast 5 more weeks but we were going to keep it secret til my baby shower and announcing it after a guessing game. Wat do u all think?

All of your ideas are adorable! But we were too lazy to do something cute. With an active two year old, I barely had the energy to make it to my appointment. I sent a text to both sides of the family. My SIL is my secretary and she was in my office when they called with my Blood test results. I asked my husband if he wanted the doctor to leave it on my VM so we could find out together and he looked at me like I was nuts.

We find out on 1/13as well! So excited and also a little sad we don't find out before Christmas - it would make the reveal easier!

We will find out one of the days between christmas and New Years when my OBs office is open. That's when I'll be 18 weeks and when my OB does the scan.
We will have the nurse write it down so we can find out at home together. We found out at the office with DS but it ended up not being special because I was so focused on whether or not the baby was healthy. I said "it's a boy? Ok. Is he healthy though?????"

I'm going to take a pic of DS eating either a pink or blue lollipop and mail/text it to family since we are all over the world.

I don't get to find out till February or possibly even March because of how my appointments are falling. I live 2 hours away from my OB so I will schedule it on the same day as a normal appointment so it's going to be a while. DH will likely not go with me (he will probably be fishing) so I will find out by myself and just call him when I'm done. Same as I did with DS.

@KatAttack101 I like the idea of a game at the shower. It will also help people it the items you need from the registry instead of loading you down with clothes since they won't know the sec of the baby.
