Introducing Myself! (Loss Mentioned) RMANJ patient

edited December 2015 in Infertility
Hello! Happy to join!! Age 36 as you know aka advanced maternal age. Quick little timeline started trying to get pregnant in 2013. In 2014 had 3 miscarriages. 2 with heartbeat approx. 8-9weeks (1 D&C, 1 passed on own-) 1 chemical. I started trying to figure out what was the problem met with various doctors. Multiple testings led to MI (male infertility) not so great SA (sperm analysis) had a normal SHG and ok egg quality, Drs said possible chromosomal issues but they had no tissue from D&C to really prove this but I was recommended to stop trying on own and try IUI at RMA. This past February met with a new RE and said IUI not a good idea due to SA, and recommended going straight to IVF. Now I've had two failed Implantations one fresh one frozen and the embryos were PGD tested. Next step is a second SHG and endometrial biopsy.

  • Welcome. I'm 35. Trying on our own for over 7 years. On November 29 we had our first IUI. I'm new to the process. Wanted to say hi and best of luck with IVF.

  • Hi@colem91 lots of luck too! Good luck with IUI!
  • Welcome! Not sure what an shg is, and if that's the same as an hsg. There's lots of great advise, accounts of IVF superwomen, and knowledge on this board. I know it helped me understand and prepare for ivf by reading previous months' IVF threads. Good luck!

Shg is a saline sonogram. It is different. The hsg checks to see if your tubes are blocked, the shg checks the walls of your uterus to make sure there are no abnormalities (fibroids, scar tissue, etc) that would hinder implantation.

  • @purepositivity I would suggest jumping on one of the ivf boards.
That is the best place to ask questions and get to know people.

There is no need to start a post again to further your explanation or for each question.
Welcome to our group. We are always sad when people find themselves here, but you will meet some wonderful ladies.
