Pregnancy Pains

Hi ladies! My name's is Kayla, and my husband and I are expecting our first child this July!! Since I've never been pregnant before, I of course have some questions that hopefully some of you have too or can answer for me!

I have been having SEVERE gas pain in my abdomen this week. I realize that it's pretty common due to our changing bodies, but today it's the worst it's ever been! I'll admit my diet hasn't been the best throughout the past few weeks, but I've been doing my best to include more fiber in my meals to try to "move things along" so to speak. Has anyone here had similar issues? Any other things I can do to help my body out?

Thanks ladies, and best of luck to all of you!!!! :)

Re: Pregnancy Pains

  • Yup! Really painful and uncomfortable! Thanks to progesterone
I've found the Metamucil capsules to be helping and using the potty squat and also laying on my left side with knees close to my body!
    Good luck!

  • Congratulations And welcome! Try getting some light exercise (waking, running aerobics) it can really help. Also there is a similar thread here too with a lot more ladies struggling with the same thing and suggestions :) you might want to check it out as I don't remember all that was said :)

  • Water, water, drink more water. And then when you think you can't drink anymore... drink more. ;)
  • Welcome! Oh man...gas is horrible. I have tried many things for that and honestly nothing works better than just laying on my left side and letting it rip. Poor DH.

  • Gas-X helps, in addition to what the other ladies mentioned.

  • Thank you ladies!! It's definitely getting much better as the weeks progress, I'm in week 10 now! I'll be sure to up my water intake and see if that helps as well! I know stress can be a big factor as well, and of course it's the time of year where stress is at an all time high! I'll look out for that other post as well!
