Pumping decrease milk supply ?

I started pumping and storing milk and I've noticed today that it feels as tho there's nothing in my boobs anymore for the baby. I pumped hours ago and I haven't had any issues BF so far. I usually have a good milk supply . Anyone else having this problem?

  • I worry about that too. But even when my boobs feel squishy and soft my LO still produces wet/dirty diapers. He's been eating more frequently so I haven't had much chance to "refill" and he seems happy for the next 1-2 hours until he eats again. And remember babies are better at expressing milk than the pump.

  • If you're pumping right after baby eats, you should empty the breast. You'll have enough before baby eats in 1-2 hours. If you're worried you can block feed. Let baby eat from the same breast for three feeds and pump the other breast. Does that make sense?
