This happened with my first as well. So I switched Dr's before finding out I was prego with our second. It was 'good' in the beginning; I've never really had an experience with a Dr. that's been 'great' I feel so jealous of the women that say "Oh, we absolutely loved our Dr., they were awesome, blah blah..."
I contemplated switching mid way through my first and did not, because I thought I was just being bratty about it, and I regret it. I've so far liked this Dr. okay, but just went to my appointment yesterday, and got the same feelings back. I had been going off of my weeks every Sunday, so this coming Sunday I thought I would be 18 weeks, so therefore I could schedule my 20 week scan (to find out gender as well) the days before Christmas. Well, Dr. comes into the office and starts off saying 'okay were at 16w5d' so my first thought is 'wtf, no' I asked her when did that change, considering I did not have an ultrasound this appointment, and she said 'oh no, It's never changed, you must have just been off'
I'm aware i'm more forgetful lately, because of prego brain, but I'm not a complete idiot. So needless to say, after she was rude and wouldn't even explain anything further to me, when I go to try and schedule my '20 week' scan up front, of course they're booked the few days before Christmas (I had a feeling that would happen, so wasn't too upset over that, I guess) so I asked the girl if there was any way possible I could come in that Friday before, a few days before being 20 weeks and she was so shitty about it.
Is it worth is to even try and switch Dr.'s at this point?? Am I overreacting about it?
I think i'm just more disappointed that I will not be finding out before Christmas like I had originally hoped, but that aside it seems to still upset me.
***Sorry so long, just needed to get that off my mind..........
Re: Switching Dr's almost halfway through.......
So maybe ask around and see if you can find a doctor you like more, or even look online. As silly as it sounds I think there are websites where people "rate" doctors and leave reviews and stuff. That could be helpful! Good luck.
If you really are measuring at 16w instead of 18, they probably won't want to do the A/S at another office either because it's more for checking the major organs of your child, and that's more accurate when you are closer to 20 weeks.
