Clumsy Clumsy Cluts!

So, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but I seem to be having incidents spilling things. I'm not normally a clumsy person but have managed to spill more cups of tea/coffee in the last 2 months than in the last 10 years. Tonight I went to sit down with a big glass of sticky prune juice and knocked the glass! Ended up with a fountain of brown goo all over the cream carpet. I'm not exaggerating but this spray was 4 meters wide, with thousands of tiny droplets. Just spend 30 mins on hands and knees scrubbing. I have now been banned from taking drinks into carpeted areas like a small child! Anyone else turned into a Cluts?

Re: Clumsy Clumsy Cluts!

  • I had it really bad when I was pregnant with DD.  This time hasn't been too bad.  Hopefully, as you progress, things will get better.

  • Hahaha I'm sorry that happened but it's hilarious!

I am clumsy but I've always been clumsy so who knows. I do seem to drive over curbs a lot when I'm driving lately. Did I lose all spatial awareness? Am I just a complete idiot? Can I blame this baby somehow?
  • @Emztron500. I'm also a terrible driver. I can only front park! In my defence I only learnt when I was 30, so you really can't teach an old dog new tricks....lol.
  • @atlast111 -- been driving since the day I turned 16 and I still can't back into a parking space. And of course my husband always pulls into parking spaces that way to spite me/show off. :)

I'm so klutzy that it's hard to attribute any recent behaviour to pregnancy. That 100% sounds like something I would do.

I was voted Biggest Klutz my senior year in high school so I feel this. I don't think it's gotten any worse with pregnancy but this morning I some how managed to let the gas nozzle fall out of my gas tank and start spewing gas everywhere. It was a mess.
  • I'm not a clumsy person at all and I have always had amazing balance.

With that being said, I've developed the pregnant clumsies. I was putting up ornaments last night and kept dropping them. I dropped a huge candle holder on our wood floors and luckily didn't leave a dent or scratch. I spilled my hot apple cider alllll over my office. I might as well have mitten hands with how well I've been functioning lately
  • So glad I'm not the only one! @Copperlane. "Mitten hands" sums it up perfectly!
  • For real. Pregnancy destroys mamas, people. It'll only get worse (especially with spilling things on yourself). Man alive.
  • Yup, I hear ya girl.

Already tripping over everything, I worry what will happen when I can no longer see my feet :-/

  • I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that there's a hormone relaxin which is more prevalent (maybe starting around week 13) that may be contributing to y'all's sudden or increasing clumsiness... I'm clumsy just as a general rule though...

  • Oh man. Relaxin is cray cray. Makes you all wobbly bobbly.
  • It's terrible! I drop everything and have bruises from hitting into walls... Yes I know that wall has been there for 30 some odd years but it jumped out at me! I know it did!
  • My dad has liver disease and one of the symptoms he has is called "flap hands" where he just randomly drops things constantly. Now I'm constantly doing the same thing and every time I exclaim "flap hands!" Such a perfect term.
  • I had this really bad with DD in the third trimester. I remember being in work and for some reason the damn water used to fall on my boob every time... Three times I had to walk around with what looked like leaking nipples.

Oh that is how I am, but I am naturally very clumsy. And I hate driving/parking too. Although I've had my lisence since age 16, I still find driving "hard"!

My husband is meticulously careful- ALWAYS. I think after a dozen years of marriage he's learned to accept my clumsiness about me.

As far as being banned from drinking on the carpet, don't listen! You cleaned the mess up yourself, so no one should even be concerned with what happened!

@june2016baby. I'm glad I'm not alone! It's just a little out of character for me. Don't worry about DH'S ban, he was only joking. He's a very caring and relaxed man. Last time I got the car wedged up against a concrete pillar, he drove out to come and rescue me....we just laughed! What a disaster!

Pretty funny. I bet your husband secretly loves rescuing you, it probably made his day!
  • I've always been a bit of a klutz/spiller...but it's been worse. Knocked a whole cup of French vanilla coffee on myself in the drive thru this week. Burnt my legs, to the point of blisters, and now my car smells....haha

I didn't think it could get worse, but oh yes it has!
  • Yes!! I broke a bowl in the sink just washing dishes and knocked over a display of hot cocoa at the grocery store. So much for keeping my clumsiness confined to my own house
  • Ugh! Dropped the dogs food (kibble and wet food!) all over the floor the other day... The sound of the kibble skidding all over the floor and smell of the wet food was almost enough to make me cry... Thankfully the dog could clean it up for me!
  • I have been so clumsy lately! I made a casserole the other night and spilled half of it trying to scoop it some onto a plate for myself! My husband couldn't understand how I managed to pull that off. I've also been spilling all over myself recently.
  • I thought this only applied to hands.  Walking down the steps on Sunday and fell right on my butt.  Luckily it was on the stairs and not down the stairs.  I felt like an idiot.

  • Yes, I'm normally clutzy, but not this much! Today I spilled my whole water bottle all over a computer station at work. Then, a few hours later, I spilled again all over my desk. I'm terrified of tripping and falling on stairs or ice now. No bueno!
