Labor Laws & Pumping

Does anyone know if an employer can make you go on an international business trip (US to UK) if you are breastfeeding/pumping? I have a few concerns:
1. How to get the milk back? (Keep it cold enough to transport for such a long journey & didn't security at London Heathrow airport make Alyssa Milano dump her breastmilk. I'm not going through the hassle of dry ice and shipping overnight).
2. What if my breast pump doesn't work with the power converter or adapter (I've had hair appliances not work)? That would ruin my milk supply if I'm not able to pump.

    I'm not sure. Maybe ask your HR rep?

    Can't you ask them and tell them you are breastfeeding. I'm sure they have to accommodate. Keep us updated please and I hope they understand that you're a mom and share your concerns with them. They have to be able to accommodate somehow! Good luck!!

    Absolutely talk to your HR Rep, also, maybe bring a manual pump, just in case.  If it were me, I would research and find out how I could ship back.

    If they make you go, maybe you can see if you can expensive the cost of shipping. I read an article about a company called Milk Stork, that's sole purpose is to help mom's ship breastmilk. It sounded pretty easy, but a little pricey: https://www.milkstork.com/

    I'm not sure about the rules on that. But I have had electronics short out on me in Europe even with the converter. I would try to get out of the trip.

    Wow this is tough! If they force you to go, get a manual pump and also get batteries for your electric pump (if possible). You may end up having to "pump and dump" what you can't safely store, but at least you will be able to maintain your production. Good luck!

    Does your pump take batteries? That could solve the adaptor issue
