Did a search on google and found disturbing info on Zofran risk to baby. Do doctors really prescribe this to women? I keep reading on the forums here that a lot of women take it for nausea. Are they unaware of the potential harm to baby? I avoid any medications during pregnancy if I can help it. Suffering from nausea myself and wishing there was a safe cure.

Re: Zofran unsafe for baby?
2. Nothing has been proven about Zofran. Doctors are prescribing it less because of the lawsuits, but nothing is concrete. I took Zofran regularly during my first two pregnancies and my babies were big and perfectly healthy. I take it occasionally this pregnancy to stop vomiting, but Diclegis is helping a lot with my general sickness, so I need Zofran much less.
This time around, I'll probably try diclegis (never heard of it before, but why not). Zofran worked great, but it constipated me a lot
And I have read the FDA's stance on Zofran. Have you?
I have also read the lastst research on it.
But I guess some fear mongering money gabby Lawler has made up your mind w/o any confirmation.
Stupid scientific evidence be damned.

I swore I would take no medication during my pregnancy. Then week 6 came and I went from feeling queasy and nauseous, to being completely unable to function. I went a full 24 hours without being able to keep down a single bite of food or drop of liquid. Medication was the only thing that made eating and drinking and functioning as a semi-normal person possible. I would do anything for this child and, yes, being able to successfully eat and drink is essential. So while I would suffer through some nausea, and did, there is a point that it's more unhealthy for myself and my child and medication is essential.

O.P., you and I are the lucky ones. Yeah, I've had symptoms; I've ached, I've vomited, I've been constipated, I've had a nagging cough for weeks. It sucks, but my symptoms have been entirely manageable and I would absolutely NEVER begrudge a mother taking a medication that was doctor prescribed and cleared. My doctor gave me a list of OTC's that were safe to take during pregnancy. I haven't had to use them yet, do you know why? I wasn't unbearably miserable, and my work schedule/coworkers have been absolutely fabulous about letting me take the time to just sleep it off. I am fucking LUCKY, that doesn't make me a pregnancy guru.
