Where are you all shopping? I went to the mall today, motherhood clothes seemed so homely and pea in the pod is just so darn expensive. I got a few basics at the gap but need cute clothes! Help!!
I bought most of my stuff last time at Old Navy and I was told Ross is a fabulous place if you're looking for basics (fitted shirts in ever color). Good luck with your search!
This is my second LO I hardley bought any maternity clothes with DS born the exact same time of the year. I wore leggings all winter with long tanks and sweaters and then it was on to stretchy shirts and maxi dresses. I did buy one pair of jeans and capris from motherhood. Maternity clothes are so expensive and mostly unattractive! Old navy has some decent ones but just know you may be able to make non maternity clothes work even in some bigger sizes GL.
I've found some stores carry more maternity stock online than they do in store, so it can be worth checking their websites out. Another advantage to shopping online is there are almost always coupon codes The main places I shop for maternity are H&M and asos. I have friends who have had a lot of luck with pink blush maternity and zulily. Loft is more expensive, but if you look through their sale stuff you can score some good work clothes. Hopefully next weekend everyone will be having sales!
This is my third and I only have a few maternity items. I use the Target brand of belly bands the entire pregnancy, and my favorite maternity tops are from Target, Gap and old navy.
This reminds me, I should probably dig out my maternity clothes
Motherhood has the shittiest am cheapest jeans. They didn't last through a whole pregnancy. I have a pair from old navy that lasted through my mom's last pregnancy, my son, and I can still wear for this one. Last time I bought plain tees, some cardigans, and then a few plus size shirts.
I bought a belly band and was able to wear my normal jeans throughout my first pregnancy. Also wore tons of leggings. Thrift stores and eBay were a great place to find shirts .
Old Navy, especially now that everything will be on sale for Black Friday. They emailed me at least three 50 percent off coupons in the past two weeks.
I had some mat clothes I really liked from jcpenney but gave them away and now they don't have as much. I check Amazon and eBay too for deals but like pp said I'm buying regular clothes that can accommodate a bump like tunics and wrap dresses.
I like century 21 and Nordstrom rack (both online), they have name brands for a lot less and if you catch a sale you can get a great deal. I already don't fit my clothes so it's an issue for work. I'm borrowing a few things and buying most items. We've been trying a long time so thankfully I stopped buying regular clothes and saved a maternity budget. We want two more so I'm looking for higher quality work/business pieces that will last. I'm also uber picky about fabrics...
Outside of work I just rock whatever, although as of this week my jeans no longer contain my back or front side so I may bend and buy a maternity pair.
ASOS.com has some awesome maternity stuff - basics and more trendy and dressy things as well - the price range varies but they have free shipping and returns!
Target, Burlington, and ASOS for dresses. An H&M just went in at my mall so I'll probably go check out their maternity section soon (even though I don't need any more maternity clothes lol)
Call your h&m before you go and make sure they have a maternity section, I live in Manhattan and we have a dozen locations but only a couple have maternity.
I have some jeans from Motherhood that I like, but I'd like to get a pair from the Gap as well if I can ever find a good deal. As far as tops, I haven't really needed them yet, but when I do, I plan to go to Old Navy and Target. I've seen a lot of cute things there.
I just bought some cute maternity jeans at Target and a nice sweater. They are dark wash skinny jeans so definitely not homely looking! I also looked in Motherhood Maternity today and they have such cute stuff but it's pretty expensive for my budget.
I get clothes from stitch fix (kind of like a pay as you go subscription) and in addition to two maternity jeans from GAP, I just received a box full of more business-y clothes from Stitch Fix. I was impressed by the quality but they are a bit pricy ($40 a piece).
I don't like to buy clothes on Amazon because depending on the seller returns can be kind of a hassle. Between h&m and target I have basics and some fun pieces covered, but I'll need a gown for my sisters wedding when I'll be 7 months so that should be interesting!

@nicknshan I love ASOS! I mentioned it earlier in the thread. I have a shopping cart full of things I don't need yet @ ASOS, waiting for a bump! I even found cute bathing suits that I'm going to need for Christmas vacation :-)
I absolutely LOVE h&m jeans!! They made me feel great and fit great. I'm excited to bust them out this time, but hoping I still have a while before I need to.
Shirts I just find all over target, old navy macys, gap....
I haven't bought much yet but I did get a winter maternity jacket from Walmart for $18. Probably will shop target and old Navy for jeans and shirts though. I've read they have some of the best pricing and quality.
Amazon and Kohls. Incidentally, Kohls 'black Friday' deals start today and they had a ton of stuff for pretty cheap. Not sure of the quality, but I'm going to just get a few basics.
I also ordered a belly band. Hoping to be able to wear my regular jeans throughout pregnancy, but really not sure that's gonna work out.
I just bought two pairs of maternity jeans at kohl's because it is super uncomfortable to sit down in my regular ones. Holy crap, I so wish it was socially acceptable to wear mat jeans when you're not pregnant because they are ridiculously comfortable. Alas...
@chelseay416 Two words for you (maybe three, depending on how you treat hyphens): Pull-on pants. They're like maternity pants you can wear all the time. And they're the only reason I can still wear my regular pants right now.
I bought some maternity jeans at Target and Motherhood last time, and I just won't again. I hated all of them. The only maternity jeans I loved last time around were from Loft. This time I'm eyeing a pair of Paige jeans on Amazon. They're expensive, but I'd rather have one or two really great pairs of pants that I love and take really good care of than a whole bunch that I hate wearing.
I just couldn't take tight waist bands anymore so I stopped at Burlington yesterday to see what they had and hit the jackpot! A Motherhood sweater 12.99 and work pants 12.99, another maternity sleeping bra 6.99(bought the same one a few weeks ago on amazon for 18!), fleece lined maternity leggings, and an adorable long sleeve Christmas tee that says bundle of joy for 7.99! Their selection was small, but I found some staples for dirt cheap.
Then I hopped over to target and picked up a pair of dark wash skinny jeans to wear with my tall boots and a nice faded pair of bootcut jeans. They are so comfy and fit great! 34.99 each, but 5% of with my red card.
I have been buying (and sending back) maternity pants for the past month and have FINALLY found some that are awesome: Secret-fit collection at Motherhood Maternity. Suit trousers and jeans all fit well. Just thought I would share!
Does anyone else have to wear suits to work? I want to wear my belly band with my suit pants since the jackets still fit, but I have no idea what to wear for shirts. Do I wear a button down and leave it untucked? I think that might look sloppy. It seems like everywhere I look the maternity shirts are very casual and wouldn't go well with a suit. Any suggestions, please?!
I got some jeans in Walmart last time and they were so comfy and I got loads of compliments. I was getting them for short term so wanted something cheap until I could afford more but kept them all through and the bands were perfect.
Also I used to get some great tops and jeans in Macys when they had clearances. I got a really nice dress for $13 and wore it from week 20 right through to my baby shower at the end.
@hollywoodave531 My suit dress (sheath dress w/ matching blazer) still fits so that's been great. Otherwise maybe try wearing dressy blouses or light sweaters w/ straight hems rather than button ups so you can leave them untucked and still look neat. Maybe even try a solid colored maternity t-shirt with the right, carefully selected accessories...
I don't know if anyone had said this, but motherhood maternity is having an online week of sales this week. Today is BOGO leggings. Free shipping on orders over $75
