Nexplanon implant birth control

Does anyone have this? If so what do you think of it? I'm more than likely getting it because I'm terrible at remembering to take pills and an IUD isn't what I want. I considered the Depo shot but a lot of people I know who got it gained a lot of weight with it and I really don't want that I'm trying to lose weight lol.

    Nexplanon and repo are both the same hormone and both work via the blood so I think if one makes you gain the other will. I don't have any personal advice because I chose to get an iud because I didn't want hormones working in my blood. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

    I recently got the nexplanon and my doctor told me it shouldn't cause me to gain weight like the depo did. It left my arm sore for a couple weeks but now I don't even feel it or remember I have it honestly. My doctor did warn that it will make you bleed though. Very randomly whenever for however long. I'm experiencing that right now. So that's something to think about too!

    I have taken depo and had the nexplanon and the nexplanon was my favorite method of birth control. Depo made me have a period for the months straight after starting it and my structure ended up giving me another shot to get it to stop which is a bunch more hormones in your system. Nexplanon shortened and lightened my periods and I didn't experience any weight gain. The procedure was super easy to put it in and to remove it. When we decided we were ready for baby we got pregnant within two months of having it removed.

    @bhernandex awesome! My OB told me Nexplanon wouldn't cause weight gain I just wanted to hear someone who had actually used it to verify that for my peace of mind. The time frame is pretty ideal it will be time to get it removed right when DH and I think we'll be ready for another baby (3 years). Thank you!

    You're welcome! I will say that I think it just varies person to person. Some women gain weight on some birth controls while others don't. Nexplanon is one that most don't report unexplained weight gain on though.
