Is this trashy for someone pregnant to wear? (plus update on depression)

Okay, so I have to go to a military formal christmas ball this weekend. I've found a dress; I've actually always wanted a dress like this (plus it is free! ) But I have a tummy. Do you think if I wore this dress it would be seen as trashy for someone pregnant to wear? No real cleavage or butt-cheeks out. And my military wives said they'd think it'd be fine.

(Plus my depression and became dull :) not as bad as last week and I have another appointment tomorrow. It will be the appointment where I decide to switch or not. I love my ultra-sound tech so much :(

Re: Is this trashy for someone pregnant to wear? (plus update on depression)

  • I think it looks just fine! I've been to a few Marine Corps balls when DH was still in, and used to see quite the variety of dresses. Trust me, this one is not trashy by any means. Also, I don't think being pregnant has anything to do with it lady. Rock the dress!

I might suggest bringing a pretty shawl with in case you get cold, or for a nice accent to the dress, but other than that you look great! Glad your depression has gotten better as well :)

  • Thanks! I was just making sure other bumpies and moms thought it'd be okay before I just strutted out like KimK . Lol! I was thinking the same thing about a shawl. And thankyou! Most ladies on here helped me out.
  • This dress is gorgeous on you, definitely not trashy at all.

Good news on your depression! I hope it continues to get better. Pregnancy can make it so much harder, especially if you are suffering from MS or physically don't feel good most of the time. I have anxiety and it has really been a struggle, especially when I've been feeling sick.
  • I think it looks very nice. <3
  • I think you look very nice in it!
  • Strut that stuff!  It looks great!  I second a shawl, or pairing it with dark tights and black booties to show a little less skin (if that is what you wanted) or stay a little warmer!

  • I've been to some military balls and that dress is totally fine! I think it looks nice :) just because you're gonna be a mama doesn't mean you have to hide your body! I would pair it with tights probably. Whatever color. Tan maybe. And some black heels. Have fun!
And so glad you've been feeling better :)
  • Wear it and rock it, mama!
  • Looks great!  Hope you have a great time!

  • Love the dress! Looks very elegant. Not trashy at all.
  • We used to do Marine Corps balls every November and I would think this was a nice dress if I saw someone wear it there! Looks appropriate and pretty!
  • I'm a military wife and think it's fine. I've seen some trashy dresses at formal events and this isn't one.

It's so hard finding a dress for Christmas cocktail parties isn't it?! Stick with that one for sure:)

I am only 10 weeks, not showing.... but I feel so BIG! If I find a dress that I look THAT good in I'll be grabbing it!
  • Wear it! Remember, it's all how you carry yourself. Classiness and grace is key!!
