June 2016 Moms

Maybe TMI, however ....

We are all expecting mothers here experiencing different and new symptoms. This is my first pregnancy and while I haven't had many symptoms I have been suffering from, what I consider way often, spells of diarrhea. It happens to me every week. I've never heard of this as a symptom, so I'm wondering if anyone is or has experienced this after they got pregnant. I'm almost 10 weeks along. Just wondering if it's a normal thing and I'm not suffering alone, or if I should be worried?
Thanks, ladies!

Yep. I'm 13+5 and it's just now switched to almost constipation. From almost diarrhea to almost hemorrhoids...joys of motherhood :)

I just remembered that when your body is preparing for labor, this will totally happen again. Add in the whole losing-your-mucus-plug shenanigans, and it's a par-tay in your girlie bits.

I have had either diarrhea or soft stool every morning since 5 weeks. I'm now almost 14. It is definitely a symptom, and it makes me so mad. I have cried over it so many times. I feel nauseous when I wake up until I poop, then I feel nauseous a little while afterwards while the sting wears off. EVERY. DAMN. MORNING.

My midwife says there's not much I can do aside from cutting back on fiber and cheese. I had very sensitive bowels before I got pregnant and she thinks my body is having a tough time with it.

I googled poop a couple of weeks ago when I switched from constipation to diarrhea. I thought something was going wrong like maybe my progesterone was dropping. Then it swung back the other way. Now I'm like PPs said, either backed up for days or in the bathroom 5 times a day. The cramps that come with the inconsistency suck too, since any cramps or twinges or pain make you wonder if every thing is ok. Hopefully second trimester will be a little more forgiving to us all so we can be better prepared for third trimester.

Yes, and my nausea has been worse when I'm constipated. Then I have loose movements and feel better. It sucks.

  • I hd the opposite.  constipation.  most likely because i was on progresterone and less active.  also horrible gas.  no fun either way!
  • I've been having the same thing! It's driving me insane!

Ahh! Yes. It's horrible. I've always had a strong stomach, but now I feel like I'm getting sick all the time. No ms though.

I have lots of vomiting and ms as well. I guess I hit the jackpot haha
  • @alysemciver oh nooo :( that's horrible! I hope they go away soon.
  • I'm so sorry we are all experiencing this symptom, but also glad I'm not alone and it really is normal! Haha. Hopefully we will get a break in 2nd trimester.
  • @maryworley1 yes, those bad cramps worried me!! I'll be backed up for a day or two and then it's like WW3 haha ugh! Wishing us all better luck soon!
  • The worst constipation in the world. Now have the pleasure of a daily glass of yummy prune juice....if I forget it.....I pay for it badly the next day....lol.
  • @theatremandy Oh yes, I've dumped out the trash can several times while I'm in the bathroom thinking I'm about to vomit too. Luckily I don't. It's such an awful feeling though.
  • Are any of you ladies still having diarrhea?! Mines still an all day every day thing but multiple doctors can't find any reason why! Help meeee
  • For me, my uterine cramping (from period cramps or pregnancy cramps,) can send me running to the bathroom. I was going a whole lot in the beginning, as my uterus was going crazy. It had settled long before 10 weeks, though.
