AMH levels

Hello ladies, I haven't posted in awhile as we've been taking a break. We had our IVF consultation last week. As a part of that apt I had bloodwork to look at my AMH level. They called today and said it was 4.29. I thought that was good but now I'm reading that is high. Anybody have knowledge about AMH norms?
TTC #1 since August 2013
Unexplained/ Endo
Medicated IUIs # 1-3 BFN
IVF #1- BFN
FET #1- BFP; Ectopic pregnancy found at 7wks
FET #2- February 2017 BFP  Beta #1- 119 (8dp5dt) Beta #2- 475 (12dp5dt)

    My AMH said the norm is 0.9-9.5 ng/ml but I thought over 4 was usually indicative of PCOS.

    I have PCOS and mine is 17 (yes, it's crazy high). I read somewhere that normal range is 1-4 and PCOS women can have 4 times that level. Did your doctor say it was bad to be high?
    ME: 36 (PCOS), DH: excellent SA
    NTNP since 11/12, actively trying since 8/14
    m/c @ 7w (4/22/14), m/c @ 6w (11/19/14)
    11/15: Letrozole, Ovidrel, TI = BFP!!!
    Beta #1(14dpo)=349, Beta #2(18dpo)=2,805
    12/17/15: Got to see the heartbeat (105bpm)!
    1/25/16: NT scan = normal (HB=163bpm)
    EDD: 8/10/16 
    8/8/16: Baby boy born @ 12:25am, 8lbs, 20.5 inches
    5/18/17: BFP!!! (11dpo)
    Beta #1(12dpo)=176.4, Beta #2(15dpo)=607.1

    They said it was a good number. But then I read over 4 can indicate PCOS. I really don't have any symptoms of PCOS…I think I'm just reading into it too much.

    My AMH was 10.7 and my RE said its not necessarily a bad thing. We just have to get me to ovulate.

    When you say you don't have symptoms of PCOS, does that mean you don't have multiple cysts on your ovaries? Do you ovulate regularly?

    My AMH is 8.6 and I do have PCOS. My RE said this just means I have a lot of eggs, but I need to ovulate. It also means with the IVF cycle I'm doing right now that we will most likely have to freeze all embryos to avoid OHSS.
    Me: 31 PCOS + Homozygous A1298C MTHFR DH: 32 A-OK!
    December 2015-IVF 24 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 14 fertilized with ICSI, 9 frozen blastocysts
    January 2016-FET #1-BFP!
    February 2016-MC @ 7w3d
    April 2016-Hysterscopy and D&C
    May 2016-September 2016-Prepare to move to Qatar and TTC is on hold
    October 2016-Natural BFP & MC @ 6w
    December 2016-Natural CP
    April 2017-FET #2-BFP-It's TWINS!

    @PCOSbaby I love my OTs! Only had one cyst due to clomid. I have regular periods, i ovulate every month on my own, and I'm actually underweight so PCOS has never been a concern. Not sure why my number is kind of high.

    @takethelongway I've heard great things about frozen cycles. We may opt to do the same. I'm not doing IVF until the summer though.

    It depends on your age but your test results should have said what a normal range is.  My AMH level is 4.5 and I'm 29 - I think just slightly above the normal range but my RE wasn't concerned because I ovulate regularly.

    Hi there,
       I think your number is on the high normal end but I'm not sure id be too worried. What did your dr say? Here is a website with a explanation in AMH and also a chart on the numbers. Hope that helps.

    Oct 2010- Natural BFP after 22 months TTC ( NO MEDS USED)
    Feb 2011- Still birth @ 16 weeks 
    May 2011- Myomectomy to remove grapefruit size fibroid
    Jan 2015- Essure to block hydrosalpinx
    April 2015 - 1st IUI  - BFN
    May 2015 - 2nd IUI - BFN
    Aug 2015 - IVF ER: BCP, lupron, Menopur, Bravelle, HCG (Trigger Shot) 12 eggs retrieved, 8  mature, 7 fertilized, 3 to blast, 2 passed pgs ( BOYS)
    Sept 2015 - FET transferred 2 embryos passed PGS (BOYS)- BFN ( NO FROSTIES left )
    Dec 2015- ICH Brain hemorrhage
    April 2016- Start Birth Control Got cleared for IVF/ diagnosed with MTHFR gene mutation/ HUBBY HAS ABOVE NORMAL MORPH/COUNT/MOTILITY
    May 2016- Start meds for ER 
    May 1- Start Lupron for long lupron protocol
    May 13- Started Stims 300 follistim,75 menopur, 10 lupron stimmed for  10 days
    May 24-  16 eggs retrieved,  12 mature eggs, 8 fertilized, 5 to blast. qty 2 day 6 AA blast. qty 3 7 day blast grades AA and AB.
    Have 3 NORMAL PGS TESTED GIRLS. 1 "INCONCLUSIVE" embryo still good for use.
    7/8- Started AF and Estraidol patches
    8/2- FET scheduled ( HUBBY BDAY!!!) and my clinic automatically uses EMBRYO GLUE!
    8/2- Transferred 1 6AA pgs tested girl
    8/15 - Beta #1 137 I AM PREGNANT!!!! EDD 4/20/17
    8/17- Beta #2 269 
    9/1- MISCARRIAGE. Baby stopped growing at 5 weeks 3 days. 
    10/19- Have Baseline for IVF#3. Fresh transfer.
    10/21- Start stims 300 Follistim 150 Menopur and Ganirelix 
    11/2/16-ER 43 eggs retrieved. 15 mature. 9 Fertilized. All 9 still growing but 4 are leading and are 8 cell day 3 grade AA.
    11/7/16- Fresh transfer of 1 embryo

    Mine is 13.8 which is crazy high but I have . PCOS and I am 28 . I respond really well to fertility meds but don't ovulate on my own :/

    @mskeenan I anxious to see how well I respond to meds. Hopefully I can start early next week. AF is stalling the process.

    It's good to see another SLP! You guys are great. We will be complete if we find a PT on here. :smile:

    hey ladies... sorry quick question... do you need to fast for the serum AMH test? I have mine tomorrow and totally forgot to email my doc. I did a quick search and it looks like no, just thought I'd do a little second check. :) thanks!

    Diagnosis: Endometriosis

    • 2012 - 3 Rounds clomid - all BFN
    • 2013 - 1 Fresh IVF with 2 day 3 embryos - BFN
    • 2014 - 1 Frozen IVF with 2 day 5 embryos - BFN
    • Took a long break, continuing trying naturally
    • Feb 2016 - Biopsy = Endo, DH sperm improved from 1% to 6% morphology
    • March 2016 - Fresh IVF cycle with acupuncture & intralipids: 20 eggs retrieved (17 mature), 7 ICSI'd fertilized, 9 naturally fertilized. 16 total embryos!
    • April 8th - 2 embryos (1ICSI and 1 Natural) transferred. (7 blastocysts frozen), April 18th - Beta = BFN
    • Sept 23rd - Lupron Depot Injection for Endo control
    • Nov 15th 2016 - Started daily Lupron Injections for upcoming FET
    • Nov 22 - Baseline US/BW - Intralipid Infusion - Start Meds for FET with immune protocol
    • Dec 16th FET transfer of 3 embryos (1 - AA, 2 - BB)
    • TW below
