Question for those who used B6 and unisom

I'm so jealous of those of you who are done with the nausea! I'm still so sick all the time! I'm nervous to try the unisom because I know it will knock me out!! For those of you who used it, did you take it during the day or just at night? Did you take them together? Do you think if I just took the B6 it would help? Thanks for your help!!

Re: Question for those who used B6 and unisom

  • I take Unisom nightly, my MS was gone at night and about a week ago gone completely. I still take it to sleep tho. I wouldn't take it during the day, if you've never taken before it will likely knock you out:)

  • I take it at night only and I take them together. The one night I forgot it I was actually puking the next day instead of just nausous so I know it works.

  • B6 morning, afternoon & night then 1/2 unisom at bedtime... It definitely works! I'm pissed i forgot it last night because I feel like death!

Writing from my bed as I'm about to nap and it's only 11!

This. Works for me like a charm.
  • Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I was looking for!
  • I was so, so sick for a few weeks and my dr recommended one tab Unisom at night, then half in the morning, half in the afternoon, all with 25 mg B6. I tried just B6 and it did nothing for me, the Unisom combo helps most in the morning but doesn't cut all the nausea for me. It hasn't affected my sleep at all, except maybe some drowsiness a little after I take it but it's not much different than the exhaustion from just being pregnant! I would check with your Dr. about dosage but this is what mine recommended and it's the only thing that's helped even a little. Good luck!
  • It did not work for me. I take the Unisom for my insomnia but it was HORRIBLE taking it during the day. I felt nauseated and hungover tired. It was miserable for me. Only thing that works for me is Zofran. I tried EVERYTHING before taking it.

  • I tried diclegis, compazine, zofran and now am on reglan. Had to lose 22 pounds before my doc was like, hmmm, you have hyperemesis gravidarum.
  • I've taken just B6 and I felt like it helped some. Not sure if it would've been way more with unisom, but I think it's worth trying just the B6.

This. I take 1/2 unisom and B6 before bed. I don't take more B6 during the day. I did try it by itself once and it didn't do anything for me.
  • Thanks ladies!  I tried it yesterday and am still so nauseous today!  I had such an easy first pregnancy, didn't realize how spoiled I was!!  I might have to get a RX from my doctor...

Yep, I tried drugs from the dr and they worked much better.  Still not feeling great but not throwing up as often.

This is a totally different topic, but do you feel like you're showing yet?  I keep thinking with three babies, I should be showing more!

I've got a tiny, low bump that I can see.  I don't look pregnant, though.  It helps that I've lost 10 pounds in the last month.

  • Thanks for this. My doc prescribed me the Diclegis (sp?) and I found out it costs over $600 without insurance! I have insurance but I just found this so offensive. I have no idea how they can get away with charging that much for what the drug is.

  • I take B Complex in the morning and at night and Unisom just at night. It's helped a lot. Not 100% but its appreciably better.
  • There's a coupon on Diclegis' website. It knocked the price down to $100 from almost $500 for me. I have insurance but Diclegis wasn't covered. Go figure.
