What are you doing to get knocked up? All of it.

R/R/CS: (I hope) I'm about to O in the next two to three days and had another low temp this morning. So ready to start this TWW.

GTKY: What's the best way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers? Any good recipes? All we ended up with is pumpkin pie. Refrigerate, slice, add Cool Whip, repeat.

What are you doing to get knocked up? Checking CM, Preseed, PNVs, Sex
R/R/CS: remembered to temp today, but it was super low...96.92. My pre-O temps have been low 97s since I started temping and post-O high 97s low 98s. I'm starting to worry that I am Hypothyroid. It runs in my family. My TSH in 2013 was 3.7 and I have been reading that it should be no higher than 2 to get knocked up. I had bloodwork done in April this year, and they said my TSH was normal, but i did not get my hands on the report to see the actual numbers. I will be calling my doc tomorrow to have her mail those over to me or email.
GTKY: What's the best way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers? Any good recipes? I have made turkey salad for sandwiches when we have a lot of turkey leftovers.

I'd be a much more regular poster of I didn't have to worry that it won't let me post after I've tried out a whole message.

@Megz1902 I recently had my blood tested prior to TTC due to being hypothyroid and the paper I received from my OB/GYN indicated that pre-pregnancy and 1st tri TSH should be between 0.1-2.5 mIU/L. If yours were 3.7 I would get a new workup and make sure they know you are TTC.

ETA: I think normal range is 0.465-4.680, but as my OB/GYN indicated they have different goals before and during pregnancy.

I had blood tests in April this year. I mentioned at my physical this year that we would be TTC, but that was just my GP. The office called me and said all tests came back normal, but technically 3.7 is "Normal". Once I get the numbers from the blood tests done in April I will call my OB and see what she thinks. Not sure if I will need to see my GP or OB or a specialist to determine if I am hypothyroid and if i should be on any meds to help it.

ETA: Thank you for sharing your experience.

R/R/CS: I'm not NEARLY as obsessed with tracking my fertility this cycle as I was last, it's kind of refreshing. I'm still doing a good job of it but I'm able to spend the majority of the day not thinking about babies/ovaries, which is a nice breather.

That's exactly what mine does. Try just clicking the underlined "the bump message boards" and then clicking in the ttgp board. It's easier than logging all the way out. Hope that works for you! I'm totally switching back to Apple next phone... Lol.

I highly recommend an endocrinologist... They are a lot Pickier about your levels. I made a request that all my endo med stuff be sent over/shared with my ob so that she is in the know as well. Both docs know that ttc is my no. 1 priority right now. Optimal TSH for conception is 1.

Also make sure your t4 and t3 is tested... I'm being kept Hyper thyroid on purpose right now for medical reasons, but my endo says that what really matters with getting ku is my t4. Also... I'd check your Antibodies as well. It is very common that hypothyroidism is a symptom of hashimotos. Many doctors don't test for it, especially gp 's because the treatment for Hashis is the same treatment for hypo... But Hashis is an autoimmune disorder that can cause other fertility issues on its own.

I've had to become fluent in thyroid health this year... Let me know if you have any questions! @AmMcc12 @Megz1902

  • @gardeniagirlknits I had my T4 tested as well and will continue to do so once KU. I was seeing an endocrinologist for a while, but I have been managing the hypothyroid with regular blood tests and meds. If I have questions though I will keep you in mind. Thanks!

I had a ton of leftovers, and we ate them for 2 days and couldn't even look at them any more, so they went in the trash. I wish I would have thought of some of the things you all mentioned!

Month/cycle: 2/2 after chemical Cycle day: 9 What are you doing to get knocked up? R/R/CS: I'm trying to decide when to start using my OPKs. I have longer cycles so it doesn't make too much sense to begin now. But what about the off chance that I O early? I also bought the Wondfo ones this time so I have tons ;) GTKY: What's the best way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers? Any good recipes? I actually hate leftovers and I'm not a big thanksgiving food fan. So I fail at this one. Edit: Trying to rectify the spacing issue on the app text!

What are you doing to get knocked up? BBT, CM, OPK, baby aspirin, drinking lots of water, and of course... sex

R/R/CS: I'm not sure why Mabis is the recommended thermometer on here. So far it's given me 2 repeat temps, and it seems to beep way early. It only takes my temp for about 10 seconds before beeping and gives me a low temp, but if I keep it in my mouth and push the button to make it read again (and again), my readings are eventually higher, and more consistent.  So annoying to push it several times in the morning... I think I might go back to using my CVS thermometer next month (and NO I'm not a mouth breather, and I'm not interested in vaginal temping at this time)

GTKY: What's the best way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers? Any good recipes? We always make hot turkey sandwiches, which is just bread, turkey, mashed potatoes, with gravy over the whole thing.

  • @gonetothesea That stinks that you haven't gotten AF yet!  I think they say it can take up to a few weeks after your last pill... but hopefully it won't take that long!  Mine took 4 days after the last provera.
  • @Megz1902
You might want to also check T3 in addition to TSH... all the ladies in my family have hypothyroid and their TSH came back normal, but they had to specifically ask for T3 in addition and then found that to be out of whack.  Medicine fixed them right up.

  • @BooksForMe23 and @sarah0985 I have the same issue!! have you always been a restless sleeper or is this new? It's new for me, a side effect of the synthroid dose they have me on. I used to be a hard sleeper :( it's really hard to get used too. I'm glad to see ways to temp with this, and I've been ready to give up.

I've always been a restless sleeper but used to always also be a hard sleeper. If that makes any sense. I'd toss and turn all night (ask anyone that EVER had to share a bed with me.) but sleep through it all usually. I may have only recalled waking up maybe 1-2 times a night and could always fall back asleep. I always needed though an insane amount of sleep. Like 10-11 hours was my preferred. Once I got a Fitbit that tracked my sleep it was because I was spending a good 1-1.5 hours of the night restless. I sleep talk/walk, toss turn, you name it. So turns out I was legitimately sleeping only about 8 hours which is the norm but to get it needed to be trying o sleep longer.
As I've gotten older, I wake up easier so I do realize more now how restless I am.
I still see a clear temp shift. I did need to switch to vaginal temping but not sure if it's breathing through the mouth or all the talkin I do in my sleep. Bless my husband. Thank God he's a heavy sleeper or at least just used to me.
Here's a pic of my sleep tracker graph to show you how truly restless I am and am still successful with temping. Don't give up yet.
