Breaking blood vessels

I know this question could easily fit in the daily symptoms thread, but I'm feeling a little AW-ish and also I don't think the symptoms thread has been started yet today.
Does any else experience blood vessels breaking in their face or eyes from vomiting?  My face looks like I have a horrible red/purple rash.  I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows of anything I can do to help prevent it and/or good makeup tips for covering it up while it heals.

Re: Breaking blood vessels

  • It's normal. Are you dry heaving or actually vomiting? If you have something in there to bring up (gross, I know) it's actually easier on your body. I drink water just so something can come up and it won't be so painful.

  • Yes, it is called petechiae. It is common and does go away (for the most part).
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Thanks guys! I figured it was normal and not harmful as it happens any time I'm sick. I am mostly dry heaving so will try the water trick!

Thanks! I know it goes away. Just trying to figure out tips to minimize it (if possible) and cover it up until it does heal. It's really bad, like all over my cheeks, under my eyes, on my eyelids, in my eyeballs, forehead, etc. maybe I need to just invest in some good makeup for the time being.

Cool water and ice helps. Around your eyes, try putting a wet spoon in the freezer for 20 minutes then put on your closed eyes.

  • Yes. I have this and it's awful! I pop them in my eyes a lot! My husband say it makes me look kind of scary :)
  • I get this and for makeup, I have a green toner from smashbox that helps with redness I use before foundation...it helps
  • Thanks @dvg716! Going to stop by the store tomorrow and look for some. My days of no makeup to work is gone.
