Bleeding in early pregnancy

Currently 10w6d and have had on and off bleeding since I found out I was expecting. Tonight I noticed a tiny blood clot and brown discharge so I freaked out a little since my last pregnancy ended in a misscarage. Ive had multiple scans since my first bleeding scare and heard a confirmed heart beat last week but I still feel like there an impending doom coming my way.

Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Bleeding in early pregnancy

  • I'm sorry you're dealing with that. It is so stressful every time it happens. I had bleeding all through my first pregnancy and went on to deliver a healthy baby at 41 weeks.

  • I've had bleeding twice so far followed by scans that showed baby is still doing fine. Regardless I still worry I will see that bright red blood again whenever I use the restroom. My doctor did warn me during my episodes that after sleeping you may see clots the next morning because the blood pools while you are laying down. Idk if that helps at all. I know I pretty much stay in panic mode until I see my doctor. Keep us updated. Stay strong.
  • Have they given a cause for the past bleeds, such as hematoma, cyst etc?

  • I bled throughout my entire first pregnancy and have a healthy four year old girl. I had a bleed for the first time with this pregnancy (10w today) yesterday and it freaked me out. Clots and all. Had an ultrasound and baby looked good. No known cause of bleed. It's nervewracking but common.
  • Yes, bleeding during pregnancy can be very normal. If you search through the rest of the board, you'll find several threads where women have experienced the same thing, and it's perfectly normal.

I'm sorry for your previous loss, and the uncertainty you feel now. It's a very good sign you've seen and heard the heartbeat! Hang in there.
  • Yes, just had some red blood about a week ago, at 12 weeks. Baby was fine, but it does really get to you!
  • Today is day 7 for me with brown spotting. Day 1 have brown clots. I had an u/s on Wednesday (day 3 of spotting) and they couldn't find a cause. The tech simply said some people spot and it can be entirely normal. It still bothers me, but at least I know baby is ok. I also have an at home Doppler I use for assurance.

Hoping for continued good news for you too!
