Split retrieval and transfer.

It looks like in Januaray i will undergo the first steps of IVF with egg retrieval and then hopefully will undergo a transfer in April as i will be out of the country in March and would hate to have anything go wrong if i were to get a BFP. Is there anyone else out there who is going to be doing something similar or who have undergone a split process?

I did! My RE is a big advocate of FET so I opted to skip fresh and head straight to frozen for scheduling issues as well. My RE said it gives your body a chance to rest and come down from all the meds. Plus, he says the results are the same or can be even better than fresh transfers.

I did my ER on October 10th and just did the FET on 11/19. I will have my bets test in 4 days on the 29th.

@kjplaza I did a fresh transfer, but a lot o the ladies on our boards did ER then a frozen cycle either the following cycle or after a few months like you, rather than a fresh. Still lots of BFPs! Good Luck! Looks like there's a lot of you January ladies already. Should be a great group!

Hi there ! I am currently planning to do a split cycle as well ! I'm starting my stim meds the week of Christmas , egg retrieval early January and then transfer likely in March ! We can be cycle buddies !!

Thats awesome! i will be starting meds i believe in January, with retrieval in late Jan. and hopefully transfer early in April. I am supposed to call in dec. after i start my next period to get started on BC and then they are going to give me the exact schedule of meds and retrieval.

@mskeenan Me too! I get sick with just vitamins so I'm worried I'll react badly to all the different meds.

@kjplaza ugh that's rough ! I still can't look at injectable needles . My husband has had to do them for me in the past . He's gonna be out of town likely for part of my stim cycle so I'm gonna have to put my big girl panties on and stick myself with the needles ! Eeek !!!
