Baby crib advice

Hi everyone! I was wondering if you could tell me what the best crib/crib brand is? Me and my husband can't spend a ton of money so I'm trying to find good quality for a good price but this is our first baby and I just don't know what brand is going to be good and safe or our little girl. Any advice and help you could give me would be very much appreciated! Thanks so much!

    I know you can get cheapish ones in Ikea and I've read good reviews about them. Why not check that out?
    Baby doesn't necessarily sleep in the crib from day one so if you're planning to put him/her to sleep in a bassinet or the newborn part of the pack and play then you could save up for a crib and not feel under pressure to have it immediately.

    Honestly, new commercially sold cribs are going to be perfectly safe. A lot of issues arise when people put them together incorrectly. That is the biggest concern.

    I would check out IKEA if I were you. A lot of the cheap cribs are from China and are structurally safe but some of the MDF woods and paints they use are questionable IMO. There are plenty of reports of products being sold cheaply out of China with issues like these that go undetected. IKEA cribs are 100% wood and come from Europe where manufacturing and materials standards are much more strict.

    Cribs made and sold in the US must meet safety standards.
    The baby bargains book has good info on the best baby items and when to save and when to splurge.
    My crib was $99 from Ikea and relatively easy to put together. It has two mattress heights as well as a toddler rail.

    Agree with ikea. Super easy to put together, durable and cheap. They go from $99 up. You can't go wrong with any of them!
    All new cribs are safe; it's all in how much you want to spend.

    We got ours from Kohls online. Right around $200 and it's great quality. Also shipped really fast!

    They're all pretty much the same. You can find inexpensive ones at ikea or used ones on any Facebook baby site or craigslist.
