Tens Machines for Labour.

Hi Everyone,
I was just looking up what I might need to take to the hospital and came across a list with the tens machine on it. I have always been planning to use one but due to 'Baby brain' had completely forgotten. I have heard great things about them and am now looking at the 'Elle' Tens machine on amazon. I know they should be used early in labour to get the benefit. Any info or feedback on using these?
Thanks!

I had a doula who used them and thought I would really want to use it during labor. I. Did. Not. It was too much stimulation for me. But no harm in trying!

  • I agree that there is no harm in trying. But it's really hard to tell what you will and won't like during labor until you're in it. I would just go armed with multiple coping tools and decide at the time what works best for you. For instance during my first I had back labor so all i wanted was to be on all fours rocking back and forth and when anyone touched me I hated it. For the second I was standing and leaned over the bed with pressure applied to my lower back by H. Every labor is different.

  • @fishwife799. That's very true. I feel like the more options I have for pain relief the better! Think I will combine, tens, water bath and gas and see if that is enough.
