Re: Scared about delivering my 3rd child.

  • This is my third also and i have never been more ready to push something out of my hoohaa! However i was induced with both of my other kids so i am a little worried about going into labor on my own just because ive never done it. And also worried my epidural wont work again like with ds#2. Just remember if it was really that awful we wouldnt do it 3 times!

  • This is my third too.

What are you feeling nervous about? The whole process, or just one isolated area more than others?

  • This will be my third as well. First c-sec, sec vbac and hoping this one will be as well. Not really nervous about the pushing per Se. Just making sure I get to the 40 weeks mark and baby comes out safely and without needing another c-sec.
  • This is my third and I am also very nervous and scared.  I have had one early induction and one emergency c section and at this point the decision between c section and vaginal delivery is still up to me.  My ob and mfm remain completely neutral about which way would be best and I will be delivering in 6 days.

I much preferred vaginal delivery to cesarean and in a perfect world that is how this baby would be born.  However I am concerned that baby won't tolerate labor and I will end up with another emergency c section situation.  I don't want to put unproductive stress on the baby or my body.  I also feel like choosing a cesarean would be better psychologically for me because I would be in control, it would be my choice.  My last cesarean was hard in all sorts of ways so I can't make a choice and I am scared.

  • This is my second and I'm scared. I think we'd be weird not to be scared at least a little bit. So many unknowns and Mother Nature sort of takes over - it's hard not being completely in control of what's happening.
  • I'm scared as hell as this is my 1st and I have nothing to compare it to. I also really hate that it's completely unpredictable how it'll happen, IF my water will break, if I'll know when to go to the hospital, will the epidural work, will the pain be unbearable....?!?!!? AH!

  • This is my third my kids are spaced out I'm kinda worried because this pregnancy has been so different then the other 2.
  • This is my third I had long and difficult labor and one short/easier labor. I'm still nervous. I feel like anything could happen. I'm trying to remind myself that it'll be OK.

  • This is my 9th and i am nervous. I am having contractions and tons of bloody show yesterday and today. Everyone assumes that since this is my 9th that it's going to go fast. Nope. I have long labors lol but i still get nervous. I think it's natural. It's so unknown what can happen or how it will feel this time.
  • I was way less scared with my first then I am with my second. I'm excited to have him but I can't just run to the hospital now if I go into labor. I have a whole other human to worry about!!
  • I'm scared too. Worse than the first time around as well! I can't decide if I should have a c section or natural birth either. I need to make a decision asap as I'm almost 38 weeks.

  • This is my first and I am not nervous. The only way I would be nervous is if I dwelt on it too much. Do something to distract yourself! I am on maternity leave but keeping busy with cooking/freezing meals. Doing productive and useful things keeps my mind off the "big event."

My DH is scared shitless, however.
  • This is my third and I'm also nervous and scared. I had one induction and one med-free birth and have decided to go med-free again. I'm only afraid of the pain because it really does hurt, but th recovery for me was so much better after my med-free birth that I found it worth it. Anyway, I understand. I'm not sure how it will all work out with 3 kids still at home (oldest goes to kindergarten next fall) but I know we will figure it out and it will all seem so normal very quickly. Good luck!!

  • I'm a first time mom and I'm starting to freak out. I spent the last 8 months worrying about LO growing strong and healthy inside me, I haven't really been thinking about the birth that much, or at least not worrying about it until today. Yikes!!
  • I just delivered my third on 11/17 i was due 12/15 .. Shes fine !! I was so nervous i did contract on my own labor was longer for me 17hrs ... I did get the epidural but i still felt pressure. It only took 3 pushes .i will say i felt like i knew how to push 3rd time around. Because i had my other two at younger age. So give yourself more credit you will do GREAT!!!!
