Haha @Taymiller guess you just gave him a taste of his own medicine! Throwing up started for me yesterday, I'm desperately hoping I can keep Thanksgiving dinner down today! So far, feeling good. Knock on wood.

DH found out he has shingles....who gets shingles at 33????? Thankfully I had chicken pox twice, so this shouldn't be an issue for me, but both of us can't be sleepy and feeling crappy all the time!!!

That's HORRIBLE! My father had shingles before and it looked like one of the worst pain he's ever had. My condolences!
@BioTeach84 did it started less than 48h ago? He could have acyclovir prescribed! It help me tremendously when I got shingles. It prevents the spreading and the risk of long term effect like pain. Shingles are soooo painful
Since the kids have school today and tomorrow in France, we're having Thanksgiving on Saturday with another American/French family. Tonight I had a buttered English muffin. Kinda sad today, as Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. And since my baby has turned me vegetarien, my dinner will be quite boring on Saturday. Oh well... still can't wait to celebrate the holiday from afar and keep the tradition going for my kids.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Enjoy your meals and special time with your families.
@jolydan it's been a week since the rash started. He let it go about 5 days before he even mentioned it to me that something was wrong. They gave him antivirals and Vicodin and he's been feeling a little better. Hopefully, it won't spread past his neck and shoulders.
Thanksgiving is EXHAUSTING with a 10 month old and one on the way. Ugh. Thankfully the baby is now sleeping. How did everyone survive their family gatherings?
I'm finding that when I start to not feel hot if I can burp it gives me some relief for a bit. But the worst is when I can't burp. Is that true for anyone else? How do you handle it? Is this truly nausea or just indigestion (I don't have any reflux or heartburn)? Tums also give mild, temporary relief, as do sea bands (these work best).
I'm really really sad that I've been too sick to go to thanksgiving I sobbed about it yesterday but my dad and step mom are making another thanksgiving meal tomorrow and invited me over! No extended family means I can barf and sleep all I want and still keep my secret
I don't cook for Thanksgiving. I've literally only made ONE thing ONE time. And now that I'm a wife and soon to be mom, I guess I better start prepping for next year.
First off, my family all know i'm pregnant. My parents and brother came to thanksgiving (they live 700 miles away) and all my cousins live down here already.
Thanksgiving went well until 6pm. My brother is autistic and can get mood swings if hes overstimulated. We were around family all day and I think he had enough and started to get annoyed/angry. It ended up with my mom taking him back to the hotel in an emotional huff. I got upset because they left and I had ate too much....I threw up in my cousins front yard then cried on my husband for 30 minutes because I thought I ruined thanksgiving. After crying it out I called my mom who said everything was fine, she just needed to get my brother away on his own to calm down so I did not ruin it. She felt worse that I had a breakdown and wasn't there. DAMN THESE HORMONES!

MMC @ 8w 12/15 MC @ 5w 03/16 ALEXANDER JAMES DUE JULY 15th!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow July 2016 moms There's just a lot to be thankful for this year and one of them is that I am experiencing pregnancy for the first time
I am having serious food aversions to all cooked meat esp poultry so I cancelled on my inlaws. Turns out I ended up feeling crappy and exhausted all day. I don't know how you mommas with young kids do this! DH and I lounged around, played cards, and watched both Portlandia and The Man in the High Castle. It was actually realy nice just spending the day together.... even if I did get ragey and emo about losing at cards
Im still bitter about this years thanksgiving. It was the first one with my husband and i and my brother inlaw and his family told us they were coming over (not that we invited anyone over, since we live in a 900 square foot 1 bedroom apartment). So i got up at the ceack of dawn and cooked for about 9 hours making food for all 8 of them to come over. When we called to tell them food was almost ready and they should come over, they decide its too hard yo get everyone over and their daughter really wasnt feeling up to par anyways. I was livid. I cried the rest of the day. It was my first time cooking thanksgiving and they didnt think to tell us until everything was done. I dont know if i will ever invite them to a holiday function again. They think they did nothing wrong and "i shouldnt have made so much food if i didnt know for sure they were coming"! They invited themselves!! Ugh! Sorry for the negativity, but i just had to get this off of my chest.
@Knottie65654301 I can't say I wouldn't have told them they better bring their a$$ on over after they invited themselves AND I cooked for NINE HOURS for them!!!
Also, I almost dropped my phone on my face trying to type that lol
After driving 8 hours *barf* we finally made it to nowhere ND. I have a real aversion to meat with the bone in it and lucky we we had full Cornish game hens. Which i managed to get down. Had a crazy pregnancy dream accidentally kicked DH so hard he fell off the futon we are sharing. But all in all so happy to be with family and be able to relax and enjoy time together. By the way is anyone else's hip joints seem to crack a lot? Mine pop several times a day now!
@Lindsayleigh1989 my hips hurt my entire pregnancy with DD (but one hip was fully dislocated when I was born and the other partially) and they've already started to hurt with this one. It's just things loosening up preparing for baby. My pregnancy pillow helped tons!!
As for Thanksgiving, it was pretty uneventful. We were at my in laws yesterday. My DD didn't get her nap so she was crazy until the drive home. She finally got a nap at 5 so we were up pretty late. Funny how she didn't get the memo to sleep late! We head to my moms on Saturday.
I am glad I told my friend and her family I was pregnant because I ended up crying a couple of times throughout the day. Again I always cry because I am so happy. I went up to my BFF and hugged her and cried. She was my first college friend and we haven't lived close to each other in 10 years but last year her and her family moved to Denver. I just makes me so fricking happy.
Thanksgiving was great and I was able to eat for the first time all week.
And then we got home at 9pm and a GIANT tree fell on top of our house. I about peed myself. Soooo it looks like Half of our house is about to be remodeled.

Oh my goodness! What a sight to come home to! I live in an area with lots of storms so I'm always worrying about that happening too. Hope you can get it fixed soon!

Totally made my first baby purchase today....I couldn't help myself. I wish we knew what we were having because zulily had pink or blue onesies that said "I ❤️ My nerdy mommy"

We had a super low key Thanksgiving with just us and my mom. I didn't have to cook or clean a thing. So nice.
