I'm 38 weeks and had a meeting with my boss to go over project's. She basically said I dropped the ball on a few projects that could have cost the company money and she said she understands because I'm pregnant but I hate that she uses that excuse. I feel so slow the mistakes were made due to a lack of communication and assumptions made on not only my part and I'm just feeling really stupid right now. My brain feels like it has completely slowed down and the past week I find myself going into a daze when people are trying to have a conversation with me. The kinda daze you get right before you nod off. Is there anyone else feeling slow or just plain stupid? No offense just real question.
Re: 38 and 39 weeks do you feel
In terms of pregnancy brain, I have experienced this to some degree but I mostly blame sleep deprivation. It's hard to be an intelligent and communicative person when you are getting 4 hours of sleep a night that is interrupted hourly for pee breaks.
Some suggestions:
Drink water. Like... Tons. When I feel a bit loopy, I have a couple large glasses of ice cold water.
Drink tea. I know we're "supposed" to avoid caffeine, I gave up my coffee addiction before getting pregnant, but at this stage I need my afternoon black tea or else I get super sleepy. It makes me feel a whole lot better having a bit of caffeine in my system.
Get sleep. Like PP said, if you are someone who is up a lot during the night (like me) you really need to increase the hours you are in bed for. I go to sleep earlier and stay in bed later. Because I usually have a period of sleeplessness during the night (like right now, I've been awake since 5 am and it's 6 now!) But I will stay in bed til 9ish. I also sometimes take a short nap in the late afternoon. Like 20-30 mins top.
Good luck! Hope this helps!

We were taking a vote in my ethics class on what our next lecture should cover since I guess we are behind and don't have time for all 3 options. I totally spaced out and forgot to raise my hand until it was too late- even though I had a strong preference! My shrunken brain is definitely noticeable!! Sorry so long...
