I'm too fat/back issues (Also have a 8am NST) to do real black Friday but hope to find some deals online. I really want a crib mattress and video monitor. I thought I'd start a thread to post links to online baby deals!
Great idea! I will only be doing online shopping because A. I'm too fat and tired to go to the stores to get the best deals (and risk being trampled), and B. I have a weekly OB appointment at 7:30 that morning followed by tickets to a football game.
I'm just going to a local store for their sock sale...lol I cannot stand in all those long lines. I did one year at Khols and it was a 3 hour wait and no where to sit
Amazing idea - apparently babies r us is posting Black Friday deals soon, but I haven't looked in to it. Im also much more interested in cyber Monday deals but got talked in to attempting to shop with my cousins because my "pregnant rage might come in handy" https://giffage.com/gif.php?show=media2.giphy.com/media/TlK63Er4gKHILXzNeA8/giphy.gif
I went to Baby's R Us on Black Friday a couple years ago when pregnant. It was around 11 am or so but it wasn't crowded anymore and they still had All the specials that I wanted.
I will also be 39w2d and my crazy butt plans to go to the mall. I have never missed a Black Friday so unless I'm at the hospital, this year won't be any different. I do plan on waiting until after 9 am though when the crowds are gone since I can't stand for too long periods of time. Online shopping makes me sad. I like the hussle of going! It makes me happy!

Well apparently you are much more ambitious than me. My nearest mall is an hour away so the combination does not sound fun to me.

Crowds are best later on Black Friday? ? I never knew this...but I'm always getting there as the mall opens at 6am or earlier so am the first there. I really mainly want to hit up target this year and the last time I tried there was years ago and was complete chaos but I can't remember what time of day I went

Yes! Once upon a time when stores didn't open until 4 am Friday thats when the crazy crowds and lines were. But now since most stores open Thanksgiving day starting around 5pm, thats when the new "rush" is. Almost all sales run until noon Friday so after 9 am is perfect. The only times its too late is if youre trying to buy an electronic or appliance that will require you to stand in line the moment the store opens.
My sisters are trying to convince me to go to Target with them Thanksgiving day, after I'll have been on my feet all day Wednesday baking and then packing...and probably on my feet a lot Thursday too. I just laugh at them and tell them to find their new nephew some cute stuff. Ha!
I do plan to go out a little on Friday - I actually do need a few things that will be on sale. But after working my share of Black Friday mornings, I can also vouch that 9-10am is a great time to go out. The crazy morning freaks (I say that tongue in cheek...I'd always volunteer for the 6am shift those days, and still like going early) are gone home or to lunch and the afternoon folks are still getting ready.
Ever since I won $500 from Target a few years back for dressing like the crazy Christmas lady from their commercials back then, I've decided that Black Friday can be just hanging out at home doing online shopping. I'd like to think I went out on a high note.
Anyone else having a hard time getting target's ad to open? They released the black Friday ad about 2 weeks ago and it just spins, and it is driving me nuts! I mostly wanted to know if there were any good deals on baby stuff.
Honestly so jealous of all you ladies who get Black Friday sales!! We don't get anything like that here in Australia! I feel like I'm missing out - even though Macy's does ship to Australia (the shipping is so expensive).
My sister wants me to take her Black Friday shopping since she doesn't have a car. I'm a little hesitant on going but I'm hoping since most Black Friday shopping is done thanksgiving day now, there won't be crazy long lines. Because this pregnant lady won't be standing in them

Your sister can suck it. She needs to figure out a plan that does not involve being chauffeured around by a woman who is 9 months pregnant to save $5 on a shirt. Just say no and let her borrow your lap top. Most stores are doing a majority of deals online this year.
I will only be shopping online because I am not going home for Thanksgiving this year.
The stores opening Thursday night takes a lot of the fun out of it IMO, it takes no commitment to go to a store at 6pm or even to stay up until midnight. The atmosphere was much more fun when people actually had to get up early to do Black Friday. I blame places like sears and staples that wanted in on the sales but couldn't get people to line up...so they started opening before the heavy hitters like target and best buy which takes the sport out of it!

The lines were still very long last year when we went out on thanksgiving. I'm staying home this year because of how crowded it gets and how crazy people act. I don't want to risk getting bumped into.

I would drive her and just hang out in the food court with a Cinnabon or auntie Anne's. Food is a great motivator for me right now lol.
I'm not a fan of Black Friday. I had a bad experience in college - needed a computer monitor and I'm pretty sure staples pulled the old bait and switch. Anyway, I'm curious to see what you ladies find. If it can be bought online I may be interested! I haven't shopped in stores on Black Friday in years. There's just nothing I want that badly. The lines and crowds... I just can't.
I love black Friday. Not because of the deals and steals..but because of the crazy people! My dad and I would pop a squat and watch all the crazies, great memories lol. With that being said I wouldn't risk going shopping this late in the game. Too many risks!!
I love it for the people watching!!! Unfortunately I'm on modified bed rest and don't think being around crowds would help the blood pressure much. Not to mention I have an NST 9am Friday. I'll send DH for anything I MUST have, he loves Black Friday!
I want to get something online for my mom, dad, husband and The Baby Ball. I don't think I'll brave the crowds. We get shoppers from both sides of the border. Not worth it for me. I'm not worried so much about craziness - i don't think it was crazy last year. I'm worried about the lines and the crowding. Because I can't drive after dark - can't see squat after dark - so I can't risk getting stranded at the mall.
My sister bartends, so she'll be scooping me up after she gets out of work tomorrow night (which is about 2AM Friday) I'm not sleeping anyway so I figured why not. Kohls has a great deal on the kitchenaid mixer, with a rebate and earned Kohls cash. "Thanks Santa"
So Black Friday wasn't as bad as I thought. I did some online shopping yesterday and brought my sister to some outlets today. The only store that had a really long line was pet smart (which I was pretty surprised) compared to the other stores we went to. Needless to say, I spent a ton of money but the look on my boys faces Christmas Day is so worth it. How did u ladies make out?

I asked my husband yesterday if people actually went to pet smart for black Friday! Guess they do! Lol we scored a box of 246 diapers for $11 from BRU.
I woke up this morning (1 day before my due date) and decided out of the blue that I just HAD to get myself a coat and that today was the day to do it. My husband works nights and was sleeping and my family doesn't live here so I went alone. I'm really hoping it was a crazy nesting urge and that I'll head into labor soon, but I'm guessing I'll still be pregnant by Dec. Anyway, Macy's was actually busy but not crazy at all by 11am when I got there. I found a great Ralph Lauren coat within 20 min or so for 60% off and they actually had a really nice and organized selection (I've always shopped for coats after Christmas and see similar sale prices but really awful selection). Hopefully it fits post baby since I couldn't exactly zip it up.
@ammnam14, that sounds like an awesome price! I wish our BRU was close enough to check out their deals today. I thought the 50 min drive (in the opposite direction as our hospital) might be a big much for me to go on my own at 39+6
Y'all, do NOT get on the Target website for Cyber Monday deals. It is a f-ing mess and their website cannot handle the traffic. It's only 15%, it's not worth it.
