C-sections

classical incision

Hello!

I am 36 weeks pregnant and had a classical incision (otherwise known as an upside down t incision) I am scheduled for a repeat c section at exactly 37 weeks. I am worried about this. Has anyone had experience? The reason they are doing it so early is due to the fact that they want to avoid uterine rupture.

Thanks!

Re: classical incision

  • Hi there! I had an inverted T incision with my last child as well. I'm 34 weeks now and have this c-section scheduled for 37w3d. My MFM wanted me to have it between 36/37 weeks to avoid uterine rupture as well. This is baby #5 for me, but my first planned c-section. I don't have a lot of insight to offer, just wanted to say I understand the worry! While 37 weeks is a little early, it is still considered full-term. I take comfort in that, so hopefully that will help. Not much longer and you get to hold your sweet baby! Good luck to you!
  • Why did they do that incision? My doctor only uses the bikini cut on me. This will be my 4th.
