Tilted uterus?

I had an ultrasound done today and everything looked great heartbeat was 160 and the baby was very active moving his/her arms. The doctor told me I have a slightly tilted uterus. Anyone else have a slightly tilted uterus?

Re: Tilted uterus?

  • Yes mine is very tilted. Nothing to worry about this is my second pregnancy. My doctor said it sometimes makes TTC difficult but once you do no worries!

  • I do. My doctor told me the only complications I may have is more intense back labor when it comes time to deliver. Woo hoo :)
  • Mine is tilted as well, and my doctor didn't say it was anything to worry about.
  • Mine is, but this is the first time a doctor told me. It's my 3rd kid, so I'm guessing it's no big deal or I would have found out earlier.

  • Okay thanks ladies. My doctor said it isn't a big deal and won't affect anything but I just wanted to see how common it is and other people's experiences with it.

Add me to the list. It was the first I have ever heard about it at an unexpected ultrasound a few weeks ago (this is baby #2). I think the only reason I found out is because the tech is kind of a friend and she tells me more than I think they normally do.

It never affected anything, so I wouldn't worry...especially if your dr isn't worried!
  • I have a tilted uterus. I had back labor with my first, and am expecting it again with my second. No big deal. :)
  • Joining the club, I have one as well (and so does my mom, I think I was curious/concerned by the idea when I found out at 19 and she shared). I've found it to mean cramps come more as back pain for me, so it doesn't surprise me that it will be true for birth pain too.
  • I have a very tilted uterus.  I had horrible back labor with my first, but now I know what to expect.  It's no issue once you are able to conceive everything should be okay!

  • I was told I have a tilted uterus during my first pregnancy. I did not have any back pain during labor.
  • I have a tilted uterus as well. It makes vaginal ultrasounds kind of difficult, but that's it.
  • Mine is slightly tilted to the left and now that I have become pregnant again, it is tilted a little more. I don't have any trouble with it, every time I have a new doctor 'diving in' I always let them know ahead of time. I remember years ago, during a pap, a doctor searching for it which was so uncomfortable and painful!
  • Mine is tilted too. I read once 1/3 of women have a tilted uterus.
