Nightmares

Has anyone had terrible nightmares since delivery? I dreamt my poor baby died when I took him for a pediatrician visit from a test they did.

I was devastated beyond belief in the dream. I was so heartbroken and woke up so relieved to hear his little hunger whimpers and hold him and feed him.

I just find myself so worried about him ALL THE TIME it's effecting my dream life. Am I the only one? My current worry is his car seat and his head slouching. I worry his swaddle restricts his breathing because it inches too close to his face or that he turns his body into the side of his sleeper at night. I'm having a hard time sleeping even when he does give me the chance!!

Re: Nightmares

  • It is normal to worry, but you might want to speak to your doctor about post part anxiety at your 6 week. I hope that it subsides and that you feel better soon!

  • I will talk to my doctor. I have a history of anxiety. I believe I'm in he clear for PPD which I was concerned about because my mom had it but hadn't known about postpartum anxiety. Thanks for mentioning it.

I've only had one nightmare since delivery.. It was while we were still 1st the hospital and the nurse's asked to take DD to the nursery to do her hearing test so we could be discharged in the morning. I had group b strep so we were there from Thursday to Saturday mid afternoon. Since delivery I had been co sleeping with her and I some up in a panic because I had a nightmare that one of the nurse's had kidnapped DD and Fed her to an alligator. I'm not sure where the alligator came into play but it was enough for me to actually be sobbing, screaming at the top of my lungs while quickly changing from my gown to clothes and DH trying to quiet me.... I ran to the nursery to find her and I just kept sobbing while standing there.... DH had no clue what was going on because all I could say was my daughters name over and over.... I hope your nightmares stop... We all already worry enough about our babies, we don't need anything else adding to that worry.
