Can't sleep ugh!

Every night no matter what I am up for a few hours. I go to bed @8, wake up around now & do everything I can to try to sleep. Instead, all I do is think!! I even put on sleep meditation on YouTube, nothing helps. I start thinking of things that happened like 10 years ago. It's bizarre. Also, thinking of chic fila fries & sauce. Okay, I'm losing it!

Re: Can't sleep ugh!

  • I started doing the same thing last week. I was sleeping like a baby but now I'm up and down all night. I'm not sure what to do! I try to just read until I fall back asleep

I just saw someone made an insomnia post! Glad I'm not alone. Last night I got up & finished my sub from lunch. Felt like a closet fatty haha
  • Is this a pregnancy thing because I do it too! Last night I slept from 9-5, but sometimes I'm up closer to 3. I don't get it!

It has to be! I used to sleep perfectly fine. Now I'm wide awake eating subs in my kitchen @2am....
  • Same insomnia issue here! I usually wake up between 3am and 5am. If it's closer to 5 I just stay up. If it's earlier I just read or go online until I'm sleepy enough to go back to bed. Either way there's food involved because I wake up feeling like I haven't eaten in 20 years.
I've tried delaying my bedtime (which is usually impossible) but that didn't work. Guess this is good practice for when baby comes?

@arosemong - lol'ed at your "closet fatty" comment. I'm so with you there!

  • I have this theory that my body has been taken over by the baby. I can only eat foods that satisfy the toddler pallatte and have the sleep schedule a toddler. Also from time to time, I just start whimpering to my H for no particular reason just like a fussy toddler. It's ridiculous!

I wish a pregnancy sleepover existed where we could all be insomniacs eating in the night lol. My husband doesn't wake up for anything! Meanwhile, any little sound I'm up & about... Then I think about thanksgiving dinner & what I'll bake for Christmas... My brain just goes! I feel like a crazy person!

We are twins. I have so many food aversions. The only greens I get are when I put spinach in my smoothies. Today I went to chic fila & got a large fry & chic fila sauce to dip them in. It was actually magical. Then I didn't eat again til this evening when I ate cookies.... Lord help us!!!
  • This thread makes me so happy! I thought I was a crazy fatty too! I am a FTM and mature maternal age (lol) so I am up thinking of how old I will be when baby goes to high school, college, and everything in between!
  • I have always been a big sleeper, but lately I can't sleep in past 7:30 and I only seem to get light sleep in the middle of the night. Add in waking up to pee at least once, and my sleep isn't what it used to be. I use a jawbone up band to track my sleep and steps and is definitely shifted. :( Here's a recent night with deep sleep as the dark bands as bookends.
  • So in this club. I'm up between 3 and 4:30 every day without fail. I can't for back to sleep no matter what I try! It's not that big of a deal during the week because i have to be up by 5 anyway, but on the weekends it's a PITA because I can usually get back to sleep around 6 which is right when dd decides is a great time to get up....sigh
  • Ugh I have this problem too. Wide awake wee hours of the morning thinking about my to do list or whatever.

  • @babylewis16 I think about that too! I will be 26 when I deliver so on the younger end of the spectrum, but I still think man what will I be like in 10 years?! Will I have energy, when will we have more... My brain just runs with ideas! I wish it had an off switch or a nighttime mode :)

@arteduc8 I have a Fitbit HR! It measures my heart rate & how I sleep too! My heart rate jumps all over as I sleep it's so weird.. Then when I'm up it still thinks I'm asleep -_-

@mdargie for me it's so hard to not pull out my phone when I can't sleep & ive found that makes my insomnia worse! This is our first so the only thing to wake up is our 4month old puppy @5am -_- ... Can you tell our pregnancy is a surprise?! Who would get a puppy & pregnant in the same year?! Lol.

@stringgirl right there with you! I think of decorations at target I want to get... Then what I'll need for groceries this week.. If we'll get our tree Black Friday... Etc etc!
  • I am 9 weeks today and the lack of sleep is killing me. I wake up every night around 2 AM and can't fall back to sleep until around 5AM. The past 2 nights have been filled with morning sickness, and a headache, which hasn't subsided at all. My friends say it gets better in the next trimester, I certainly hope so.

  • I thought there was something seriously wrong with me! I also wake up around 2 and can't sleep again for hours! We bed share with our 2 yo and me tossing and turning all night wakes him up, and it's just awful. :(

  • It's 3:00am here and I've been up for an hour. I'm announcing my pregnancy publicly on FB. I have a lot of family out of state.. I can't decide which photo to use.... And I've spent the last half hour trying to figure out where I can get Chips Ahoy Salted Caramel Sweet and Salty cookies! I can't find them anywhere and it's all I want!!!!
  • Good morning everyone! Happy thanksgiving & wow surprise I'm awake at 4am COOL. -_-

We are doing our announcement at thanksgiving dinner today @jennk0118 !!

Ugh I hope you feel better & can enjoy thanksgiving :( I had bad headaches all last week & half a Tylenol seemed to really help!!
  • Ugh ladies! I'm right there with all of you! I guess it's our body's way of preparing us for motherhood. Lol Whereas normally on a weekend I'd sleep in until at least 10:30-11, I'm up at 7-7:30 now! Drives me crazy! I used to love my sleep!

I haven't been able to sleep in in forever! So
I'm used to being up early but not up all night!! :(
  • What I want to know is why I never heard of this as a symptom?? Nausea, check. Sore boobs, check. Exhaustion, check. Oh wait amplified by the complete and utter inability to get eight hours of continuous sleep. Grrr.

A sleepover sounds fantastic. And yes, I open the fridge every night at 3:40am and my voice has taken on a distinct tinge of whine when j talk to my DH. Total hostile takeover.
