ouch!

I have quick, sharp, shooting pains in my breasts. it happens randomly. I don't remember it ever happening while breastfeeding my baby. Does anyone have a clue as to what this is? its been going on for a couple of weeks now. I hate it.

Re: ouch!

  • Probably your milk coming back in..thats how mine is

  • Agree with pp :-)
  • Mine do that when it is cold outside and I don't have a sweater on
  • What do you mean when you say, "coming back in'? I've been breastfeeding for over 7 weeks and it just started recently.
  • I had that when i was still breastfeeding. It was caused by raynauds phenomenon. Do you have pain when you get cold or have you noticed your nipples turning white? Also my aerolas would sometimes swell when I was having the deep stabbing pains.
  • Like baby has drained you and you are refilling. As baby gets older they become more efficient draining your breast.
  • Also known as the "let down" that you hear about when breastfeeding. Something like 30% of women can feel their let down. Mine only happens every once in while when baby is eating. It most often happens when baby hasn't eaten in a while and my boobs are like "omg get this milk out of me".
