Super confused.? UPDATE

Okay. So as I mentioned in my last post I got my BFP! A few of them... but if I put the 1st day of my last period (which was October 28th) into a pregnancy calculator, or Ovia, it says "you aren't pregnant yet, but if fertilized, you could be", yes I get it.. I should be ovulating now.. but I got positive pregnancy tests, so obviously I'm not ovulating right now. I must be further along than 2 weeks then right? Was my period not my period? It was only 1 solid day.. then spotting for the following two days. Any of you mommas experience this? I know you aren't doctors, but this is driving me crazy and it will continue to until I can finally get in!

Re: Super confused.? UPDATE

  • Maybe it was implantation bleeding? No way to know for sure since I'm not a doctor nor do I know your cycles. But it could be the case. Good luck! :)
  • Loading the player...
  • What dates did you have that spotting? If it's only two weeks ago, then the apps are correct, there's literally no possible way that was your period because that wouldn't be long enough for your body to ovulate, the egg to be fertilized, have it implant into your uterus and for you to produce enough HcG to turn a test.

You should contact your ob and let them know what's going on. I agree with @WinchestertoPittsburgh that if your period was 2 weeks ago, you could not turn a test.
When you call, let them know the date you last bled and the dates of your period before that.
  • Thanks guys. The "period" was on oct 28th, 29th, and a little on the 30th. On the 28th it was def more than spotting though @WinchestertoPittsburgh
  • So, if you count that as your last menstrual cycle, you definitely could not be pregnant at this time. It's medically impossible. You would only be a few days maximum past ovulation at this point. You'll have to go back to a period prior this one you're talking about, or take another test to confirm that it was in fact positive.

  • I just took one @WinchestertoPittsburgh . Still faint, but there. I've taken 4, 2 different brands 1 digital. The digital said pregnant 1-2
  • Or no, 3 different brands
  • Ok, well in that case you ovulated 1-2 weeks ago. If those days of spotting were your period, that means you would have ovulated no later than CD7. Do you always ovulate super early?

Agreed. I guess I was just intrigued and quite confused.

  • I'm not sure @WinchestertoPittsburgh . I just went off BCP in september.

@BeachTigress I haven't had one in awhile because i went off BCP on Sept 25, and didn't have one until october 28th.
  • It could have been implantation bleeding. We don't know. Call your doctor and have them test you to figure out what's going on. Good luck!

This. Please stop speculating with online strangers and make a doctor's appointment.
  • @kynbar5 literally waiting now to get a blood test. Sometimes the wait is a little easier if you know people that have gone through the same thing. It sucks being completely clueless in situation that is nerveracking.

While I understand that, people on the internet cannot tell you what will happen in your case or change what will happen. With these things it's much easier to seek an actual doctor's opinion instead of getting your hopes up or being let down. Every single woman is different. As is every single pregnancy.

  • Sorry- I actually meant to tag that last post for @suchaglencoco .

I'm glad you went in and I hope they were able to give you some answers. I know it's stressful sometimes but with something like this, is best just to contact your ob.
I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.
  • It's possible what you thought was your period was ovulation bleeding. I had ovulation bleeding every month since stopping BC pills. I knew it was ovulation bleeding because I was temping. One month it was spotting for a couple days. obviously your doctor can give you more information.

  • Thanks @huskypuppy14 that makes me feel better! That would be the exact right timing. I took a blood test yesterday that I'll get the results for on Monday. I'll post on here the results
  • Sounds like implant bleeding. I will be awaiting your blood test results! Good luck my dear!
  • So my blood test came out with my hcg at 17, so its still early. I'm going in again thursday to get another count to make sure its rising. So no exactly date yet, but I'm hoping my doc has more to say- I havent talked to her yet, just the nurse, but she didnt seem concerned at all. So crossing my fingers for a rise!
  • So discouraging news: my first HCG test from the 12th came back as 17. They said it's low but OK since it could be early.

I went in again on the 19th and my nurse just called and said my levels are STILL at 17 and they are confused on why because they expect them to either rise, or fall . So I have to go back again on wednesday. I had such a bad feeling and expected a CP, but not knowing exactly what's going on is killing me.

Any similar stories to keep me optimistic?
  • I would love to tell u I have heard a positive outcome with those numbers...unfortunately, hcg levels staying the same level for a full week does not sound like a viable pregnancy. I'm sorry :-( ive had 2 CP'S myself and I know how dissapointing they are
  • While I hope you get the results you want, truthfully, it does not sound like the pregnancy is viable. I'm sorry.

  • I've got to agree, early response HPTs take anywhere from 12.5 (FRER) to 25 to turn positive. If you had positive tests for a few days, went in and were at 17 and they didn't change it doesn't sound viable. If I'm wrong, that's great but I dont want to give you false hope when it doesn't sound promising. *creepy internet stranger hugs*
  • My sister had what she thought was her period and it was implantation bleeding ... She also bled throughout her first trimester. When she got a bfp she was halfway through her first trimester because the one time she thought she has her period, it wasn't. Her son is now almost 10yo. Definitely call your ob and get their opinion.
