Thinking of changing Doc for baby #2

So hi. Don't know if I did an intro. I can't remember. I have been on the bump since baby #1 and wasn't very active but participated some with my birth month group.
Now we are waiting till January 2016 before we TTC. I really enjoy this board because I know I'm not alone with waiting but also not wanting to wait.
We live in a small farm community and with the crazy harvest and planting season in the summer we are trying to not have a baby then.
This time around I am thinking of changing my dr. We are about an 90 miles from my doctor and hospital and it is just difficult.
I have always been interested in having a home birth and we have a new midwife and birthing center that's 20 miles away. I am really tempted to use her, however I have some concerns.
The logical person in me knows I should wait to make a decision till after I have a BFP and set a meeting with the midwife.
However, the planner crazy person wants to go talk to her now.
Any thoughts on this really long post. Sorry.

    Are you due for an annual? I needed a new doctor and was interested in a midwife too, so I went to see her for a well woman visit. Many people don't realize that midwives also do paps, etc.

    Bummer. Maybe call her right away when you get your BFP and see how you like her during the early visits?

    Yea. I'm waiting it's just hard to wait since I already have to wait to get prego

    You can always switch so don't worry about that. I switched after my 12 week appt. with my 2nd baby cause they built a new hospital much closer to us. Now I've switched back to her cause she opened a second location near me. Yay! GTN about midwives doing paps too. We are having issues switching insurance for next year so that might be a more affordable option to look into.
