Just thought it would be fun to see what traits (personality and physical) you all hope to pass on to your child.
For me, I'm hoping our child will have my husband's piercing green eyes and his wit. He is very quiet but when he says something, people listen. I admire that about him. I have always been very independent and decisive, so I would hope to pass on some of that.
What do you hope to pass on?

Re: What do you hope to pass on?
Physically, I wouldn't mind if this child has more of my Mediterranean coloring. But, if he/she has DH's blue/green eyes, whiter skin, and lighter brown hair that would be great too. He's handsome and our son has his coloring but more of my facial features. I think a mix of light/dark would be stunning though. I do hope that this one gets DH's cheek dimples and taller height and my hair body/thickness like DS did. I'm really hoping to not pass on my thalassemia minor trait.
Really, we got very lucky with our son and I'm hoping that this LO is a nice combination of us as well.
Our first is amazing in personality, humor, intelligence and health. Of course I hope for the same with the next go round.

I agree with you about many mannerisms being passed on through example rather than genetics. DH used to have a nasty habit of pointing and shaking his finger when he was angry. At nine months, DS started doing it. DH was mortified and watched his body language better after that and within a few weeks, DS stopped doing it too and started asking for hugs when he was angry instead (something I encouraged).

I want a redhead so bad. My brother has brown hair but his little girl was born with reddish hair and I love it. Apparently it's the hair color my grandfather had. Red heads are adorable.

I have a rebellious streak, question everything, and am a critical thinker. My SO tends to follow social norms and go with the crowd more, but has a tremendous amount of confidence, is very vocal about his opinions, and loves to rock the boat. I'm hoping our baby gets the best of both and we have one mighty little hell-raiser. I'd love to have a kid who questions my authority and keeps me on my toes
DD definitely has my curiosity and love of learning. I'm a scientist and since I was little I've always wanted to know how everything works and why. Already at 2 she's so interested in figuring things out and how they work and her favorite question is "why". She loves to learn new things and show them off and she absolutely loves books. DH was very anti-school but he's a very good with hands-on things. She also gets her manipulation from DH. She's able to manipulate everyone and she gets away with way more than she should.
DD has DH's gorgeous blue eyes and I will probably be sad if our 2nd LO doesn't have the same eyes. Although I think that she's going to be very tall like him. I'm 5'0" and DH is 6'4" and I'm afraid DD is going to be taller than me by the age of 8. But if we have a boy then I hope he does have DH's height. And I hope both of our kids end up with my teeth!! I've never had a cavity and the only work I've ever had done was getting my wisdom teeth removed.
So basically I guess I'm really not sure what I want passed on. Definitely cosmetic things like my teeth and DH's blue eyes, but personality wise I have no idea. Although DD is very difficult at times and high maintenance I think I'm really going to appreciate her personality when she's older and has to take care of herself. But a little more laid back LO wouldn't be a terrible thing.
